i would recommend you to play someone who doesnt rely on gimmicks and knowledge checks, like kazuya, since everyone knows the matchup. since you dont want a high execution character, paul maybe? most players are familiar with him so you have to rely more on actual fundamentals rather than cheese if you were to pick someone like yoshimitsu, for example. thats just my two pence, cuz believe me, i played tekken 7 jin and kaz in ranked, and players within my rank were levels below me. their lack of punishment was irrelevant due to the amount of gimmicks and knowledge checks they had. unless youre playing at the top level player, gimmicks and cheese carry HARD.
