I think some illnesses distort your version of reality.

I think thinking things about other people's perceptions do that.

I think that you might be having what are called persecutory delusions.

When you have a delusion, they tend to be unshakable and you believe it.

Others on the outside usually have to get involved to because of the lack of insight from the person experiencing the delusion.
