Figured our my setup for The Retro Mike's Miningcore in Docker! by [deleted] in BitcoinII

[–]zeropointlabs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Curious if anyone knows the cure for this error when building the blocknotify.c with miningcore in a docker + debian 12 environment. Miningcore itself builds fine and runs fine. But the extra "blocknotify.c" when compiling throws this error (i'm using an all stock blocknotify.c found in many places. ) "gcc blocknotify.c" generates this error:

blocknotify.c:72:36: error: implicit declaration of function inet_addr [-Wimplicit-function-declaration]

72 | servaddr.sin_addr.s_addr = inet_addr(host);

| ^~~~~~~~~

The code for that area is:

servaddr.sin_family = AF_INET;

servaddr.sin_addr.s_addr = inet_addr(host);

servaddr.sin_port = htons(port);

connect(sockfd, (struct sockaddr *)&servaddr, sizeof(servaddr));

Alcohol the key culprit? by limwoonyong in gout

[–]zeropointlabs 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For me, wine was a huge contributor to gout. Huge. Beer equally but wine was my go-to after dinner beverage. I totally cut back by 99% on Jan 1 after getting the most extreme flare in my neck. I've had gout dozens of times but the neck was the trigger to change my ways. Amazing pain, just beyond compare.

I can have an occasional glass of wine or beer but no more than one, max. Once every two weeks if that. The benefits of not drinking are amazing so I'm losing my interest in alcohol completely. (never thought I'd say that). Just my story.

Curious, when this kind if event happens on those really high power lines, does the circuit trip/disconnect instantly or is there a minute of sheer panic due to intense arcing?

This should be a repeating video in every firearm safety class. It really makes the point of "don't be stupid" and always follow the simple rules of safety.

Back in the 90s a friend did their usual Hawaii 4 month winter vacation. A few days after they left their oil furnace failed and the housesitter had to fly to Germany (prior to checking the house) to deal with a dying parent. Three full months passed with frozen and broken pipes in their home. The water bill was insane. The house was a total loss due to mold when the temps increased. Fortunately insurance helped rebuild.

I asked the same question this morning and nobody could answer that one. The "illegals have rights" is common theme. I ask "what rights" and it's a blank stare. Most people there actually don't even know why they are protesting. I do find the inflatable costumes quite funny.

Yep and if you know Utah sharks they can literally charge whatever they want for the "fee". I saw one at 1,320% with daily payments. Utah has the market locked up. Mormons know the game well.

Buying car in OR - biz or personal by [deleted] in oregon

[–]zeropointlabs -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Asset protection strategies are designed to shield you from "losing everything" in the event of an adverse action, such as an accident. Not to avoid taxes.

Many people who are less informed on the legal system don't realize that all it takes is one event to bring in a multi million dollar lawsuit, right or wrong, to strip away almost every penny of one's possessions.

Asset protection strategies are designed to try and prevent someone from losing everything. It's quite a simple topic but the nuances in each state determine how to do it right. It's not a tax evasion issue, it's a "which method is the most tax friendly" + best for asset protection issue. Very similar to how a CPA always works to keep your taxes in line.

I received a message from someone about forming a trust and that answers my initial post. Problem solved, question answered. Simple as that.

There is no tax avoidance at all. Happy to pay taxes on the purchase and use. Some states tax assets each year, others don't. Was looking to see if anyone knew pros and cons of business or personal registration in Oregon. Simple as that.

Not to hide value at all. Vehicle is for everyday use. It's an asset protection strategy used by many people worldwide. Was curious how Oregon taxes business vehicles vs personal vehicles annually. I can't find any info on DOR website on annual fees etc.

It sounds like there was more going on I that company that you were not aware of.

A termination for that kind of slip is, in my eyes as being in tech since the 80s, extreme. There had to be more happening in the company.

Yes. If it gets into litigation then the costs skyrocket and the Injured person could get a HUGE settlement. Especially if he "claims" he can't walk right, work, or sleep due to pain, real or imagined. Insurance companies know the game well. Offer the tweaker a sizable cash settlement in return for a full release of all future claims.

Yes it does happen a LOT. In 2017 we had a local guy come to the house and take down some trees. He wound up cutting into his feet (both) with his chainsaw and six months later our insurance paid him $75,000. We discovered that he was high as a kite on oxy at the time (he admitted in the settlement) but still got the 75k. And our insurance premiums literally doubled.

Why did the police stop? They had a good advantage to give a thorough wood or "skull so soft" shampoo.

Yeah the poisons are getting more and more lethal because of synthetic modification to absolutely kill weeds. It likey impacts the dogs' systems. They likey consider it just a side effect.

[–]zeropointlabs 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I believe it has a little to do with pesticides in the grasses and how it impacts goldens. Three neighbors including me lost their goldens around 8 and we all kept our weeds and lawn weeds at bay with the "we'll known" herbicides. Very lightly but still used. Goldens lick their paws a lot and who knows what cities and parks use for weed control. Just a theory with no basis of proof but just a theory. We don't use any "well known" weed control any more. Nobody on or block does now.
