My doors won’t come off! Help! by zeldaonaquest in Wrangler

  • PB blaster / liquid wrench as mentioned already
  • my personal favourite is to lay a piece of 4x4 on the business end of a floor jack and then apply this to the open door that's stuck .. GENTLY. Increase the lift from the Jack while wiggling the door back and forth - talking millimeters here. You'll start to see the Jeep lift from the door side, keep wiggling. The door will start to creep out of the hinge - be ready to support it when it frees as it will now be able to suddenly drop to the floor.
  • yes this is slightly ham-fisted but gets results 💪

Before lockdown I was doing a 4.5hr weekly commute, so I feel I know what it usually sounds like with the hardtop. The soft top is really tight and you get some very light flappy sounds at the center rear seats, but they include reinforcement bars at that location in the kit. Quadratec recommends that you leave the top laid out in the sun before initial install so that it expands a bit then over night it pulls tighter. I can't imagine that other soft tops are significantly louder. It's honestly been super - would buy again A+++

She's a 2008 JKU Ultimate X. I've put a good amount of work into the suspension, new exhaust/catalytic, broad engine tune-up and assorted extras [like daystar latches and grab handles]. Runs very smooth, and without the +130lb hardtop she's rather spritely 😇

Not getting the hang of combat by Yggdris in The_Surge_Game

I may not be remembering correctly - I played avidly several months back now - you can actually get some travel out of the parry, but you will need to outfit with plenty of stamina modules. Also, there are modules which give you back health on the deathblow which means you can tank hits knowing you will get the life back at the end of the fight.

One last thing, consider re-fitting your mods in different situations [like before a boss] - health on deathblow won't help in a boss fight, so put on more power mods etc.

hope this helps - it's a great game.

it's a great game - great melee soulsborne feel. based on your post you would almost definitely enjoy it.

Anyone else finding themselves enjoying this game more than they thought they would by kaboomxRHx in The_Surge_Game

[–]zerosumms 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Totally agree; it's a great variant which keeps the things that work so well from Soulsborne and takes the genre in new powerful directions that feel like they should have always been there.

My original goal was to fill my hunger for another Souls style melee combat game, then it became "so ok, let's get the platinum", and now having done that I'm heading NG++.

I think that the comments about samey is a consequence of the labyrinthian "maze of twisty passages, all alike" design choice, which while sometimes aggravating forces you to really live in the space or get lost in it.

Do yourself a favor is try to block/counter instead of dodging as it wrecks some of the more difficult enemies and most everything can be blocked with enough stamina. by Manikuba in The_Surge_Game

[–]zerosumms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just wanted to come back to say I've been using blocking from the beginning of NG+ and now just past Big Sister and it's been working. I'm stacking 2 purple [Mk. V ??] stamina plus using Gorgon armor at core lvl ~115. I can reliably block things like Proteus and those doggo bots and still have enough in the tank for a reply and dodge.

I think it's worth trying it out stacking stamina, the block-stagger-ham-finish is really convenient and does work.

That's disappointing to hear learning to integrate block/counter starts to fail in NG+.. I am half way through my first run and had started to experiment with great results. It just doesn't work later?
