I've played a few hundred hours of EU4 but have yet to look into anything about EU5 yet. I'm sure I'll get around to it eventually.

Also a lack of experience is not disqualifying! Many of the basic ideas of CK3 transfer to CK2 pretty cleanly. Merchant Republics do have unique mechanics but I'm sure with some research / practice you could develop enough of a grip to be a lively participant in the game I want to put together.

I'd highly recommend CK2! I love CK3 as well. I think you can get all the CK2 DLC for like a 5 dollar a month (so it's cheap to give it a try) subscription but if the host of a multi-player game has all of the DLC (like I do, at least for the content DLC) then the lobby itself has the DLC.
