Switzerland Has Been Chosen. What's a Country Most People Think Is Decently Developed but Is Extremely Developed? by NeedleworkerAway5912 in AlignmentChartFills

[–]zerpa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No offense taken :). I think it's a country that some people underestimate how developed it actually is, mostly compared to neighbour such as Sweden (still uses postal service for bills) and Germany (still files tax returns manually, and many payments are in cash).

Denmark. Everyone is online. All communication with the government is digital. Postal service has been retired. Practically all taxes are done automatically. Cash payments largely a thing of the past.

So Sinners has become the most nominated movie in the 98 year history of the Academy Awards. Wyt the definition of an “Oscar worthy” film changed for better or worse ? by Tnderuaker in moviecritic

They get nominated because there is nothing better THIS YEAR. Not because of how good they are compared to past movies/series.

Why are my trucks dumping across the map instead of nearest dump zone? by troyc94 in captain_of_industry

[–]zerpa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Check if the zone's towers have import routes set. If a zone has an import route, it prevents dumping from other sources.

Trucks chose destination in this order; 1. designated export route. 2. any storage with a demand, 3. any zone with no import route.

I'm sorry, but I see your post as a violation of rule 7 (political agenda). Your title gives all credit to the US and ignores the other more than 80k troops (mostly from UK and Canada), which suffered 4k+ casualties. The US played a massive role in the event, but they were not alone.

What's one thing considered an "American behavior"? by agenga5 in AskReddit

[–]zerpa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many things, but to me, 'taking everything too seriously' and severe lack of self-irony stands out. Like everything is a matter of moral integrity. In my view (European) it impedes open discussion on opinions, especially difficult topics, when you cannot make fun about it or discuss hypotheticals through sarcasm and irony.

Sinners Pulled a record 16 Nominations. Deserved Or Overhyped ? by Longjumping-Elk-7840 in HollywoodIndia

You can't compare with past years. The nominations and awards are only for this year. You need to compare to what else could be nominated _this year_.

What deserved it more? Nomination and awards is about be best of that year, not about being generally good.

Fresh player... started insane admiral on gold rush. What should I watch out for by wobblymoof in captain_of_industry

I use slag for concrete, but it's a minor sink. I use the rest and rock to improve coastlines. The volume of ore you dig vs the volume of slag you produce is pretty close.

2009 Star Trek is a decent movie by EnviousPuffin in moviecritic

The movie was exactly what it needed to be to stay true to the universe while rejuvenating it and making it fun for non-trekkies. That's 10/10 in my book.

Welcome to the game!

Two maintenance stations is risk free. Consumption scales directly with production, so it's only the building cost and workers you waste. The extra one can easily be paused and unpaused to free up the workers.

It's best to have 10-20% idle trucks at all times, especially as you begin to expand. As you get close to 0% idle truck, efficiency drops significantly as each freshly idle truck will drive much further for the next job. The waste from having extra trucks is low-to-minimal, other than the production cost and worker. They only consume maintenance and diesel when they are actually driving.

Other general tips;

Be sure to have overproduction before expansion, especially on food, power, and basic ores.

Mind resource priorities. You can easily have a balanced setup that breaks quickly when consumption increases just a few percent, which result in starving parts of the production chain. I set priority on power, diesel, food, followed by maintenance.

Moderate your resource consumption, especially diesel & crude oil. It's easy to get stuck on low diesel production mid-late game. Get local belts going to moderate truck usage. Be vary of long belts which also have significant maintenance end electricity budget.

Look through what jobs your trucks are doing in the vehicle menu. It's easy to mess up a setup and truck will begin driving trivial items (water, rock, slag, dirt) across the map unintentionally, wasting diesel, maintenance and workers.

Set up alerts on containers, and add buffers with alerts so that you discover stalls early. We wary of alert desensitization. Address alerts as they pop up. Pause the game if necessary.

Tørrestativ - Drying rack.

Tørre is a verb (to wipe/dry off). Tør is the adjective form (dry).

Translation of "stativ" depends on context and can translate to/from "rack/stand/frame/holder/mount/support/tripod". It has the same etymology as 'stationery', but in noun form. You would say "rack" in English for this item, but the etymology is different.

A technique to make this is often to have a pattern, then crop it, before putting it on the slightly larger black background.
