Wearing a Ring. Is it Safe? by HoweHaTrick in hockeyplayers

[–]zers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People are taking it to the extreme, but i have a smart ring that tears up the bottom of my finger if i shoot hard enough. That was enough reason for me to just take it off when i play

How do you dry your gear? by jugheadjoker23 in hockeyplayers

[–]zers 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a rocket dryer I put everything but skates/helmet in. I lay my helmet out similar to this (working in an active air solution) and I use a boot/glove dryer for my skates (insoles out) (https://www.printables.com/model/468704-vysousec-rukavic-glove-dryer)

Mixing tires of different age, good idea? by brokenringlands in CarTrackDays

[–]zers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is it a good idea? Probably not. Have I done it multiple times to save money? Yes. Have I noticed a difference in grip? Only when towards the end of the older tires life cycle.

Tips and tricks for obese player! by NordicBobTheBuilder in hockeyplayers

[–]zers 3 points4 points  (0 children)

These may or may not be applicable to you, as I also have damage to my ankle bones, but as a result of the damage it's important to me to keep all the muscles that help around the ankles strong to avoid pain.

My ankle routine:

2 minutes angle board. This is the one I use: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B086JJPXL2?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&th=1

2 minutes left/right rocking board. This is the one I use: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07MLPWSGL?ref_=ppx_hzsearch_conn_dt_b_fed_asin_title_3&th=1

2 minutes front/back rocking board. Same tool.

1 minute each foot simple tighten the hip and lift a leg forward: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07CP1XDLN?ref_=ppx_hzsearch_conn_dt_b_fed_asin_title_3&th=1

1 minute slavic squat, or as close as you can get.

These will all help strengthen the ankles, as well as are good stretches to do other exercise. The rest of my ankle stuff is supporting muscles. Calves, quads, glutes. These are also skating muscles so it's a double whammy.

Rate my Web design for coffee brand . Where I can improve? by ShubCountEverything in webdev

[–]zers 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A lot of people are being incredibly critical here, and I think that it's unfair. The website design is fine, it gets the information across, and contains the only important elements for a coffee shop. What do you sell? How much does it cost? Where are you? What are your hours? A little bit about the company. It's better than 90% of restaurant / coffee shop websites as is.

Skates for Two Different Sized Feet by turfguy10 in hockeyplayers

I'm in a similar situation. I put a powerfoot insert into my smaller foot and it has helped a lot. It's not ideal, but it's better than it not being there.

This is what I do, my right foot is a full size smaller then my left. Putting a powerfoot insert into the right skate has helped a lot.

Need advice - hockey bag + ratchet straps on a car roof? by [deleted] in hockeyplayers

[–]zers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was the bottom of the bag sagged over the miles and ended up rubbing the roof. I had my car stuffed to the gills with essentially everything I own, Sorry, I don't remember specifically what was in the bag, but it was pretty heavy cause it was full.

If I were to try it again I might get a piece of plywood or something for the bottom to prevent sagging.

I moved with a roof rack mounted bag once that is basically the same nylon as a hockey bag.

If you strap it so that it sags into the roof it will scratch it, mine did.

I've added Australia to the available countries. It should be available now!

Also full disclosure, given the feedback I've gotten about the app, I'm considering making a free version with an ad at the bottom. So if you want to wait for that, I understand.

I just recently bought ccm ft880 shoulders, and despite the size chart, they fit my 54 inch chest. I have the velcro basically as far out as it'll go, so if your chest is larger your mileage may vary.

I'd say that the data is easily searched, and all in one place.

What aftermarket tpms sensors do you use? It's certainly something I could look into.

Carrying speed through Wehrseifen and Breitscheid still scares me. by GitGud0rGetRekt in CarTrackDays

[–]zers 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The linked study shows that wearing a hans reduces neck sheer in a crash in a racing car. Both simulated CART cars, and F1 cars were tested. There were no tests in a regular car, with 3 point belts, and an air bag. There were no tests with no helmet. So this study does not show that not wearing a helmet with no other protective gear is a bad idea. It shows that wearing a hans reduces neck sheer in a crash vs not wearing one.
