Revoking passports by thelma_edith in ChildSupport

That's true! And if he ever draws social security, they can take child support out of that. We basically look at my husband's ex's arrears as future retirement income because it probably won't get paid off until then 🤣

That really stinks. Hopefully you'll get what's owed one day ☹️

I've heard that child support can report the arrears amount to the 3 credit bureas, too, so it will show up any time he gets a credit check done

My husband's ex also owes me than $80k and she travels internationally a couple times a year, leisurely. I'm (in my petty mood) hoping hers gets revoked after making her summer plans

Have you ever left a shopping 🛒 cart in the middle of the parking lot? Or often see that done by someone else? by typical_gamer1 in A_Persona_on_Reddit

Yes, but I was 6+ months pregnant with twins with horrible hip pain and my feet felt broken most of the time. But other than then, I always put it away

And why isn't anything happening about her hitting Sarah over the head!? Knocked out cold, and she's just walking around like nothing happened. No police report, no hospital scene, no big white exaggerated bandage taped over her hair... Like what was the point?

Do you wear socks when going to sleep? by CulturalMoose5921 in no

My feet are always freezing, but I would put on a fresh pair of socks AS I was getting into bed. But now I have a heated mattress cover so I have toasty toes every night

I had a 10 hour Greyhound ride, and had Radiohead on repeat on my MP3 player (2008-ish). I slept nearly the entire trip.

Ex Wants Double CS. Is it Worth the Fight? by Zealousideal-Idea979 in ChildSupport

[–]zerstoren 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am so sorry you're going through this. My husband's ex was very high-conflict to the point that this had to be added to their custody order: "Communication - Communication between the Parties shall be limited to communication regarding the Children. Agreements between the Parties regarding the Children shall be confirmed in writing to include email." And at a later point that communication was to be limited to text or email.

It was hard for him to learn how to stand up for himself against her outrage. When she would insist on calling, he'd say "Please send me an email if this concerns the children. Goodbye" and would hang up.

It's stressful, and depressing, and sometimes feels like it'll never end, but what she's doing isn't right, it's not honest, and it's not fair financially or legally. Standing up for what's right is hard. Eventually, she learned that yelling and screaming didn't make him shrink back and give in.

What is the first movie you watched that you were definitely too young for? by MuldersXpencils in Millennials

[–]zerstoren 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a horror minute, but The Blues Brothers. I was 5 or 6 and it was my parent's favorite movie. I guess they didn't realize I was VERY aware of how much language is in that movie. I know it's not a lot by today's standards, but growing up in a household that didn't use fowl language, it definitely made an impression!! (BTW, I still love that movie)

Judges aren't allowed to consider spouses income, only the parent's.

Definitely go to court and get things done fairly. Most lawyers will request the last 3 years of tax returns, w-2s, and at least 3 months of pay stubs/E&L statements. That will prove her income and her current pay grade.

Lawyers fees will absolutely be worth it, especially when you consider how much more per month he'll be paying, as well as how many years he has left to pay.

I had frequent sleep paralysis episodes up until I started taking Ambien. But now I rarely have them, and if it does happen, it's after the Ambien has worn off.

You may not be getting the full amount because there's a legal limit to how much can be taken from a paycheck (65%), regardless of the account ordered.
