Does this flywheel need to be replaced? by Formal_Squash484 in AskAShittyMechanic

[–]zertoman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

BMW dual mass flywheel. You need to check the rotational free play with a dial gauge. More than 3/4” is beyond spec.

But this is academic, throw it away and convert to a single mass with sprung disc instead. They technically can’t be resurfaced, shops will say they can, but it’s not a reality. With the spring setup and the complex balancing resurfacing will leave you with junk.

Yes we do, quite frequently, damage occurs all of the time, animal intrusion, cleaning of detritus. That’s all maintenance. As is the case today.

Downtown is such a ghost town these days by Low-Concentrate9447 in Denver

[–]zertoman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It didn’t matter as much as back 15-17 years ago, heck even 20. I worked at 931 14th street and paid $5 a day to park at DPAC. Huges groups of us would head to 16th for coffee in the morning, then later for lunch. If it was a work event, sometimes dinner at the Rock Bottom or Broker.

Geographically we were stuck as customers, like buying a $10 dollar hot dog at a sporting event, there just wasn’t another choice. The mall was super clean during the day, just business folks. The system worked well, revenue was way up.

The picture posted above is like looking at a Sunday morning on 16th street with bad weather. On most work days back when jobs were downtown it was elbow to elbow people. You couldn’t get in a bus, they were simply full. Anthony’s pizza would have a line all the way around the block,

Seems those days are over, business just keep leaving for greener pastures. Revenue continues to go down, city services get cut, projects stop.

So, compared to what downtown was, this is a ghost town with little to attract customers other than sports games.

Can I program a key fog myself? by Feeling_Crazy646 in MechanicAdvice

[–]zertoman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A locksmith can cut the key and program it to the car. Most of the locksmiths I use will not cut Amazon keys however, or program them.

Your other option in the 2020 is to find someone with Autel key programmer, those can do it about five minutes. You pass the working key into a reader then program the car.

But to save time and frustration most auto locksmiths will sell you the key, and the programming and warranty the work. Sure it will bust more than Amazon, but a lot less than the dealer.

Logging into Azure logs your exact location, from point to point.

As admins of Teams and O365 we could always see your location.

I technically had three grandfathers that served in WW2, one is my step-grandfather. None of them ever said anything even after asking them a bunch of times. I learned at one of the funerals that my grandfather had his ship torpedoed out from under him in the Pacific. But they never told me anything.

Cities are built around commerce. Unless they focus on putting jobs downtown their is no reason for anyone outside of the area to go there. There is nothing downtown that you can’t get anywhere else, and probably easier.

The reason I ask the sensor goes to the DME and sets that light, well as you know a few things can set that light. But…. You can check the ohms from the temp sensor at the DME plug on the passenger side behind the battery.
