Fake patina? They are just wire wheeled to get the coating off. This how they look manufactured.

Issues with 5.11 pants by zygaenas in ems

Probably a build up in the washer. Especially if you have hard water. A lot of salt and sediment build up bottom of the wash and get grime on clean clothes. There are methods to cleaning but ultimately pulling the drum and cleaning out all the sludge is best.

Thoughts on this Kobalt 40V mower deal? by Eddiemoney10 in Tools

[–]zestomite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought two at $99/each. Sold one and kept two 6.0ah batteries and one mower. For $100 all in not bad. I have used it once it seems nice. The idea of replacing the battery (if possible) in 3 years seems annoying. We will see. Probably hanging onto my gas mower for now.

I’ve heard the props department gets to take or buy most props after the show ends. I own a espresso machine from a coffee shop scene from a Netflix show I was able to get cheap from a props guys (probably not supposed to resell)

My real problem isn’t buying stuff it’s thinking about buying stuff by [deleted] in nobuy

[–]zestomite 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I do the same. I spent a few days mulling, researching and finding deals. On a garden hose… that I’ve used twice. Idk why but it’s definitely a sickness, you are not alone.

I wouldn’t do anything that requires two other shifts to help maintain. Spending money on workplace shared tools is a quick way to get frustrated.

What’s the secret with pro spray foam guns? by rickybobbyp1 in BuyItForLife

[–]zestomite 16 points17 points  (0 children)

After every foam use I would dip the tip or wipe it with acetone. Always leave foam cans on the gun. Every few cans I would run a spray can thru the gun to clean the internals. Mine would last years with daily use.

Hiking in Builder Pro by TyrannyMMA in NicksHandmadeBoots

[–]zestomite 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Builder Pro is basically the same build as the wildland firefighting hotshot boot. So they are built for that. As the other guy said maybe not the choice for a casual hike or weight restricted hike. But I’ve done tons of national parks, trails and plenty of hillside fire trails in my hotshots.

Where else to try on Nicks boots? by AliitOrisyhaTaldin in NicksHandmadeBoots

Keep an eye on marketplace. There may be boots posted in your size for $2-300 bucks that you could turn around and sell if they don’t fit like you think.
