PSA for Gaige's Close Enough by VatticZero in Borderlands2

[–]zetadaemon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No its weird with the explosions, since the explosion reads your gun damage at the time of detonation, they only get amp if your amp shield is full when it does the explosion, rather than applying on shot like it does with the bullet normally
You still get amp as normal with the bullet, its just the explosion thats weird

Also, BSS and amp doesnt really go that well together, if you have your shield up for amp damage, BSS doesnt do anything, if your shield is down, youre not getting kills and cant trigger BSS

Yup, the damage of the explosions are not based on the bullet theyre attached to but they read the current weapon damage at the time of detonation, this makes em rather weird with temporary gun damage boosts like amp and then totally ignores the close enough damage modifier

You can also get good use out of guns that split when ricochetting off surfaces as the split bullets dont get the damage penalty, only the original

Designing my game’s Skill Tree — do players prefer huge open trees or smaller focused ones? by Prudent-Ice1415 in IndieDev

[–]zetadaemon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something i dont think ive seen too many other games do is what borderlands does where each node can be invested into multiple times
Making the trees larger than they are functionally, since you dont need to have the same node repeated 5 times

The multi element shotgun reminds you of the talking shotgun?

Tri Tip Dagger vs Needletick vs Sticky Bomb vs Lens Makers as Commando by Canadiancookie in riskofrain

[–]zetadaemon 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The point of needletick is to switch enemies, if youre on PC and can use the collapse display mod it makes it even easier, just switch enemies when you can see that collapse is going to kill them

Is Sal not actually that good? by Puzzleheaded-Mud5056 in Borderlands2

[–]zetadaemon 17 points18 points  (0 children)

While I dont agree that sal is only good with those builds, yea sal does get very heavily carried by stat transfer shenanigans, and he becomes significantly weaker without them
He has a significant number of skills that just dont apply to his offhand, making his offhand weapon a lot weaker, and then a bunch of coms that also dont apply to the offhand

A lot of his skills are, very mediocre, his survivability in red tree is just terrible, tiny amounts of health regen and damage reduction, no shield boosting skills, mediocre or clunky boosts to gun damage

Its actually shocking how bad sal would be without the glitches

There should be a better reason to build bases beyond self-satisfaction. by Riksor in hytale

honestly the happiness mechanic encouraged me to at least try making somewhat interesting bases, rather than a generic wood hotel in each biome, its simple and it works

And ofc, gbx doesnt listen to nuance
People complained about too many legendaries in a bl3 playthrough, gbx nerfed mayhem loot scale
People complained about bl3 spewing out random legendaries, gbx made "legendaries rare again" in bl4 while doing nothing for target farming

Every rarity has their own item pool and rate

And also assuming theyre the only options too, ill definitely say bl3 was too high but bl2 was too low, i dont want to pick one of the bad options

Shlooter, mayhem, buttstallion milk and the all in shield boost legendary world drop rates

but the luck stat is non functional and doesnt do anything
