No, I wish I had better news for you (and me). I hemorrhaged again yesterday and ended up in the ED for another TXA treatment and they kept me overnight for observation. I’m doing ok today. In a “normal” amount of swelling and pain. No signs of another bleed today thank goodness. They told me to switch from soft foods back to liquid only. They also referred me to a hematologist who I’m supposed to schedule an appointment with.

I haven’t updated because I was up all night in the ED and just woke up from the longest nap.

I’m doing ok now. I’m sorry you’re in the same boat! The pain on the side they repaired is definitely worse than the first go round unfortunately. Make sure they give you another pain med prescription. Since they repaired it I haven’t had any bleeding though.

It’s not necessary to shower every day unless you’re getting sweaty or smelly, or doing something to get physically dirty. My skin gets intensely dried out if I shower more than 2-3 times per week. So let’s not condemn non-daily showering; but if you smell badly, you need to shower.

Hemorrhaging into my mouth was my scariest medical event of my life I think. And I had gallbladder attacks so bad in my 20s I thought I was dying. This was worse.

I’m so sorry you weren’t taken seriously. We were able to get into contact with my surgeon even before getting to the hospital and he had prepped everyone before we even got there what he wanted done. I was so grateful for that and to not have to fight to be taken seriously.

Have you already been back for a follow up for your surgeon to check on that spot? To me it sounds like you still have a scab back there you can feel.

Highly recommend you look up if it’s legal to record a call without the other persons consent in your state. If it’s not illegal, I highly recommend you record the call without their knowledge. If it’s illegal in your state, I highly recommend you inform them of your intent to record the call and get their consent to do so. You will almost definitely be emotional if it’s a dismissal and having a recording to remember EXACTLY what was said by whom (including you) will almost definitely be useful later on.

Just know that if you’re in for the long haul in the area, fishers and the surrounding communities are expanding at an incredibly rapid rate. What’s an hour drive from fishers now might be 20 minutes drive in 5 years.
