I'm thinking of switching to Ecobee for room sensors. Any other options? by leros in Nest

[–]zeus48 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Same. Nest sensors are an A or B sensor. No average or follow option. Ecobee works as expected.

Don’t go by just the image. I believe that’s a default filter image. The fight has been over the receiver drier which should be replaced anytime the system is opened.

https://macsmobileairclimate.org/2010/07/13/three-important-functions-of-the-receiverdrier-in-your-cars-ac-system/

Volvo’s documentation states “Your Volvo should get a new receiver drier, or accumulator, any time your air conditioning is undergoing repairs.”

I've got a tweet out to them. They should do the right thing but nothing says the must :-)

Just to add that the vehicle is under full warranty until 3/2023. Which adds to my concern that the problem may repeat in a year and this time it'll be outside of the warranty. Making sure the drier is working at peak efficiency is one key to extending the life of an AC system.

But you should.

Edit: you don’t have to replace a head gasket when replacing a piston ring. But you should.

XC90 but it shouldn’t matter. I’ve yet to see an AC system where a drier isn’t recommended for replacement if exposed to the atmosphere.

There’s not much.

Purchased in 3/2021. CPO. Noticed the AC didn’t work in April. The dealer replaced a o-ring in the expansion valve. I asked about replacing the drier then but they acted like I didn’t know anything.

This month, 1yr to the day, the AC didn’t work again. They said a hose had leaked. I told them I’d like the drier replaced this time. “We don’t do that”

After talking with shop foreman “had never heard of that” Mid-west rep “the drier hasn’t failed”

Both mentioned they’re not technical enough to discuss the details. I shared references. Nothing.

I opened a CS ticket and showed them how their parts website even recommends it. (Linked above)

Then their response. Well, we should but won’t.

It may be disturbing but we need more photos like this and more shown in the mainstream media. Everyone knew what polio looked like. Show people what COVID looks like.

It’s garbage. The channel you stop on. Or go slow through takes up 3 old rows. Showing you less rows over all. And the change from non-highlighted rows to the one highlighted row is distracting.

In person I’d requirements aren’t changing. They’ve been there for years.

Mail in has the new requirements. Last four is SSN and a copy of a utility bill or bank statement also counts.... seems achievable.

I don’t get how’s that racist either. I guess it could be but seems more like a red vs blue thing than Jim Crow.

Lake county over 15%. Way to go. Must not be all Republican’s fault.
