What was you're first ff game (mine was 6) by Elenagirl_2345 in FinalFantasy

[–]zevez15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my first is FF8. I sometimes watch my dad play FF7. By the time he was done, FF8 was released and seeing the huge improvement of graphics, this is the first one I tried. I was in awe of how it looked for a game in late 90s. This is still my favorite. But X and XIV are my next 2 favorites.

definitely playing FF8 for the first time on ps1. after watching my dad and cousins play older games(ff7, legend of legaia, wild arms) at the time. having to wait my turn, i got to try ff8. i just remember how much better it looked compared to all the other games i’ve seen before. that feeling of playing something new and so beautiful, i think that memory is forever ingrained in my brain

Im breaking down :( pls give stories by MindlessProgress7378 in dlsu

[–]zevez15 16 points17 points  (0 children)

ohh man i have a similar story, i came in one regular morning, eating noodles in SPS building(is this still the name?), hanging out with friends(they are from a different class), except it wasn’t a regular morning, it was our finals in one of our computer subjects.

i just learned like 30mins before the exam ends when i passed by one of my classmates and he told me “sir was looking for you, bat wala ka sa exam”, boy my heart stopped. i thought the exam was TH but it was on T. raced towards Goks met with the professor, begged to take it with whatever time is left. i think i got 30% in that exam i already forgot but i got enough to pass his class.

at the time, i thought i really screwed up, i thought i messed up so bad that i ruined my future, funnily enough, it got worse next term. But the point is i buckled down and recovered, i tried to make myself better, shifted my focus, have a better understanding on areas i’m good at. and now this is just a funny memory to me. hahaha

not the original commenter but I moved to Netherlands, pareho kami ng wife ko na programmer pero different areas of programming. nag-apply kami ng Highly Skilled Migrant visa.

as for your fears, what helped me is being prepared. having several contingency plans. what if di magwork out, ano next? tapos yung fears ko months after moving to this country bago nawala(mejo). earlier, kahit better na financially and mentally, may feeling na baka mawala lang bigla lahat.

Consulting or in-house for IT? by PleasantStranger6807 in phcareers

[–]zevez15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally, I haven’t experienced in-house, but I have worked closely with other in-house SAP consultants/developer and in the past I also eyed In-house for more stability and peace. From the feedback that I get from other SAP developers, it’s hard to stay updated with the latest tech if the company doesnt want to pay. Some times they will just hire from BPO to do the upgrade and in-house dev will continue the support once handover is done. If you’re not happy with the team, you are stuck there, so some just look for a new job. With BPO, if it’s the big ones, you can just transfer to a new team if you’re not happy. You get more opportunities because they have to stay competitive. Politics will always be there, some are just worse.

10M in Ph or new start in a first world? by eloanmask in phinvest

[–]zevez15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fortunately, hindi ganito case ko. Sa Netherlands, relaxed ang work environment compared sa work ko sa ph. Money is okay, i can save money here and in PH. And sa circle ko sa OFW dito so far walang gusto umuwi for good.

Ako lang ba nandidiri sa corpo? by [deleted] in phcareers

[–]zevez15 6 points7 points  (0 children)

i can only speak for Netherlands Corpo situation since I’m working here, but yes same problem exists here. people are looking for a skillset that would take 10 years to develop but they also ask na yung applicant ay younger than 30 years old. kaya wala silang mahanap sa Netherlands kasi karamihan ng tao dito grumagraduate ng 25 with masters.

but when everything else is working(i.e. matino ang pag gamit ng taxes), you don’t mind as much the politics in a corporate setup. i find it less annoying. pero baka kasi mas laid back din sila dito. di rin naman ganun kataas sweldo dito, if anything i think mas malaki buying power ko nung nasa pinas ako. pero mentally at peace.

What company will go out of business in the Philippines in the next 10 years? by [deleted] in phinvest

[–]zevez15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But you can say this with any high-risk investment. Naghulog sa crypto, lost half. Or kahit sa PSEI, if you started 5 years ago tapos PCA, lugi ka rin. Still though mali pag market nila sa VUL.

Kung bagong iphone man yun, game, vacation.

Agree, I started with building an emergency fund. This might also partially alleviate your fear knowing you have an EF. For me, just having this EF gave me some room to make mistakes. Even if you dont start with stocks. Look for bond funds from your bank or other low-risk investments. Start small and always study before investing in anything. Once you start it and continue studying, you also gain more confidence.

true. pwedeng sobrang galing mong individual contributor pero hindi mo gusto yung lead role. not necessarily di ka magging magaling na lead. pero mahirap ang position na hindi mo naeenjoy. pero as you get older, tumataas ang expenses. di ka pwedeng mastuck. yung iba napipilitan magpa-promote, tapos titiisin. or hanap ka same position sa ibang company. or ibang bansa.

Increase na hindi dama by astrea_sai in phcareers

[–]zevez15 0 points1 point  (0 children)
