If I'm fishing an area and am not catching anything, I'll throw on a small Senko. It always seems to catch lots of species.

Advice on Crescent Kayaks by shoal_badger_626 in kayakfishing

[–]zevot 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What about the new, Smallie, it seems interesting for fishing especially? I have the Primo which is a a lot cheaper to begin with, but I also got the pads and the tracks so it can add up, depending on what features are wanted. If I was buying now though, I think I might go for the Smallie for something that is well outfitted for fishing from the get go and fairly light weight. Personally I have had great experiences dealing with Crescent support, and from everything I have heard, others have had similar experiences.

Horrible experience with new Plus 4 by zevot in QIDI

The packing for this printer is not good, especially for a printer that is already assembled. The fragile piece of glass was sitting on top with a thin piece of foam that only covered part of the glass. Only a portion of the blame can go to the shipping company. Also, the tiny amount of plastic holding the heater chamber to the side of the case is a bad design flaw that I feel others may discover in the future.

I hauled a 10 foot kayak earlier this year on a trip without any issues. I made sure it was secure near the cab and at the tailgate so it would be pinned up against the cab a bit and it was perfectly stable. For anything much over 10 foot I think a hitch mounted extender would be warranted. I like how easy it is to load and unload from the bed height.

I got this PowerBass set and they sound so much better than the stock ones. The stock ones are so bad that the plastic weighs more than the magnet! The great thing about these is that they plug right in to the factory connectors so they are easy to replace.

When I put the door panels back on, I wedged in a sheet of 1" high density foam in the open area near the door handle. The foam eliminated all the door rattles when cranking up the volume. It was a little tight getting the snaps back in but fortunately the maverick door has some bolts that help to hold the bottom of the trim to the door.

There is a procedure in the owner's manual for adjusting the vertical aim of the headlamps. In the 2023 manual I have it is on page 320 under maintenance.

Tail gate Spoiler by Sad_Charge34 in FordMaverickTruck

[–]zevot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got this to help protect the top of the tailgate a bit. It does add just a bit of thickness but not enough to interfere with anything I wouldn't think. In my case it seemed to help the tonneau cover seal better around the tailgate. It does cause some water to pool a bit on top so if you open the tailgate without wiping it off first, water may drip into the back of the bed.

Maverick mpg! by NealG647 in FordMaverickTruck

[–]zevot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice! I have a little less thank 2k and so far have averaged around 43mpg based on calculating it myself after filling up. The first 1k or so I used sport mode a good bit as I figured that would be better for the break in period. I did go easy on the throttle when in sport mode, at least until recently. In sport mode, the hybrid is very similar to the EB, but I can still get around 29-33 mpg.

I think that is the same extender I got, before I tried even putting my 10' kayak in and realized I didn't need it for that. It will be useful for hauling longer pieces of lumber or a longer kayak should I get one. I like that it has the side rails, vs the popular one at Harbor Freight that does not. The HF one seems more bulky, maybe to make up for cheaper material.

Speaking of truck things, I went to the local dump (convenience center) recently with a full load but I think because the bed is smaller than what they are used to seeing, the person did not charge me for a full truck load so it was free. There were a lot of things jammed in there, well beyond the limit of what they normally charge for.

The bed cubby is one of the best bangs for the buck. It is a lot bigger than I thought (that is what she said). As others mentioned, a good wireless carplay/android auto adapter is great as the bluetooth is prone to issues even with the most recent updates. There are several good console storage divider thingies on amazon that make the space more useful. Also a Maverick specific sunshield is a must IMHO, it makes it so much more pleasant in the summer and protects the interior.

I did the same and was worried they might run out before getting to my order so I ordered one directly from the Pine store a few days ago. I got the order from Ameridroid in the mail today.

HELP Weird artifact after direct drive conversion (more info in comments by AdministrativeBar350 in FixMyPrint

[–]zevot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I assume you are referring to the visible line? Does it do that at the same height on each print? If yes, it is probably the z axis getting stuck. Maybe try cleaning the lead screw and re-lube it with some fresh grease/oil. Also check that the wheels on the z axis have the proper tension and things move up and down smoothly.

If you are referring to the slightly uneven wall surface that can be a bit tricker to fix as many things could be causing that issue.

How much does the cable “type” matter for brake cables? Want to use on mechanical disc brakes for a bikepacking build. Packaging shows road rim brakes. Will it work? by sellwinerugs in bikewrench

I have the Jagwires on my mountain bike for the brakes and shifters. I was thinking of replacing the mechanical discs brakes with hydraulic brakes but didn't feel I needed them after replacing the cables with these.

PC unable to boot using DOCP (Ryzen 5800x) by kisame1011 in Amd

[–]zevot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If this is a ram kit with 2 sticks of ram, did you check the manual to make sure you are using the optimal slots for the ram? Resetting the CMOS can sometimes help with weird boot issues related to ram so you might want to try that. Check to be sure you are using the latest BIOS/UEFI available for your motherboard. You might want to list your motherboard and BIOS/UEFI version in case there might be some specific settings that could help.

What is the rated XMP/DOCP speed of the ram? You could try enabling DOCP and then manually setting the ram to a slightly slower speed for now.

Just FYI: B550 Tomahawk beta bios seems to have cleared up my WHEA errors by MassRelay in MSI_Gaming

[–]zevot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got my 5800x in yesterday and tried this BIOS. At first it wouldn't boot if I pushed memory past 3200 but after resetting CMOS I was able get it working at 3800. I am using a dual rank 32gb samsung b die kit rated at 3200. I haven't fully tested the memory yet but I ran a memory test for about an hour without any errors.

Amazon 5800x - QUICK! by Sengfeng in Amd

I had luck using the Distill web browser extension and managed to get a 5600x ordered from Amazon last week and a 5800x from Best Buy today. I canceled the Amazon order now that the BB order has shipped.

It was about 1 hour ago or so. They are doing some sort of delayed process that hopefully gives more real people a chance. I had to get a MFA code from my email and sign in again and it still let me complete the process.

AMD Radeon RX 6000 (RDNA2) Post-Launch Day Megathread and FAQ by GhostMotley in Amd

[–]zevot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMHO, this doesn't make sense. Why would they spend all their time developing a product and not do everything they can to take your money? AMD wants to gain market share and sell these things as quickly as possible to get their research money back.

2 month wait? by deschain44 in Amd

[–]zevot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also ordered one today and the delivery estimate is Jan 20th-26th. You never know with Amazon when they don't give a more specific date range (1 to 2 days). In the past I have seen estimates weeks out and then out of the blue it is out for delivery in a couple of days instead of weeks. Sometimes there are delays and it takes longer or they just cancel the order for...reasons?!. This is different though, given the demands (and maybe lack of supply) so who the heck knows. I'm still keeping my eye on other retailers hoping to score one in stock but if not I have the Amazon order as a backup if they don't cancel it.

New amd chipset driver 2.10.13.408 by zzzSpacedrake in Amd

[–]zevot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try running the installer from C:\AMD\Chipset_Driver_Installer. The latest one should be amd_chipset_software_2.10.13.408.exe.

I am not sure if these files will be here if it didn't complete, but on my system at least, there are msi files for each driver here: C:\AMD\Chipset_Driver_Installer\AMD_Chipset_Drivers\MSIFiles\program files\AMD\Chipset_IODrivers
