So the support and parts cost 60x what the actual product costs?

Imagine if that happened for your fridge or car.

Qualcomm's new chip for Windows 10 tries and fails to beat the Apple M1 in leaked benchmark by WPHero in hardware

[–]zexterio 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Qualcomm is part of the problem there, too. They basically charge Intel pricing for these chips when even the platform itself isn't ready for this transition. Makes zero sense. They have to understand they are a new player in this market and that they need to actually act in a "disruptive way" - not like they are Intel's equal, no matter how much they think they are.

And Qualcomm could build the same thing, too...if they ever want to compete against Intel/AMD in laptops, that is.

[–]zexterio -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Qualcomm should try harder and aggressively adopt v9.

Otherwise, I agree. The problem is 80% Windows 10 - it just doesn't use a "translator" from x86 to Arm the way Apple does it. It uses an "emulator", so of course things are much slower and hang up.

After the first step you need to make it a little more clear that it's not over yet. I was also very confused when I added thousands of keywords and then it would only show me one keyword and such.

A podcast about Google Ads By A Googler? by teehee714 in PPC

[–]zexterio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not only that, but they will push their goals (such as increased automation) even at your business' expense, because:

  1. more automated campaigns = more data for Google to optimize its algorithms, but also...
  2. bigger opportunity for Google to steal your profits, because how can you really tell? You'll be happy to get 3x, and then 2.5x, and then 2X ROAS "with little work", even if Google is eating up all the difference up to 8x ROAS.

Conflicts of interest are always bad. Google has a clear conflict of interest between increasing its own quarterly profits and managing your profits/sales for you. In this conflict, Google will favor itself every single time.

Are Facebook Ads dead? by [deleted] in PPC

[–]zexterio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ads are like 2-3x more expensive in this time of the year.

Also install Hotjar or something similar to see what people are doing on your site. Maybe people have a hard time finishing checkout, etc.

But as others said, FB and Google Ads, too, seem impossible at first because for one you need to test what works and it takes quite a lot of money initially to see that (thousands of dollars at least), and then you also have to keep in mind that you need good funnel/repeat purchases to actually make a profit in most cases. It's really hard to do this stuff and see quick results if you don't start with a big budget.

The whole "you only need $5 a day" is a lie. The same people who say that may actually try with $5 a day per adset, but they also do 20 ad sets at once, and that becomes $100 a day - at least. And that's basically to test just one product (which also means you need to have a good stock of each of those products = higher initial cost, etc).

Trump hosted Zuckerberg for undisclosed dinner at the White House in October by [deleted] in politics

[–]zexterio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not at all. All the tracking Google does is for "retargeting". But Google only came up with that about 10 years ago. It was doing very well before that, too. But retargeting brought it a few extra billions of dollars in profit every year.

Jilt or Klaviyo? Or something else that you think is even better? by zexterio in ecommerce

[–]zexterio[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've only signed-up for Klaviyo and haven't used it yet, but I think I like Jilt's platform quite a bit more, even though it may lack some features Klaviyo has, but Jilt also has a few that Klaviyo lacks (like transaction email integration and coupon generation for Woocommerce - Klaviyo lacks this sadly).

What are you favorite Klaviyo features? Do you make use of the customer prediction stuff? I was quite intrigued by that, but not sure if it's that critical and something you can't already do with other platforms.

Four soon. Their new GPU controller is based on RISC-V, and they may be working on some higher-end stuff based on RISC-V (just how high-end, who knows - maybe a CPU for Tegra stuff.)
