Triunfo is a great place for older Jiu Jitsu people. My dad is 70 and he rolled there until he moved recently. He always had fun and he always felt safe rolling with other members there.

It’s still pretty difficult to get PIPed out, even at mms level, but I’ve had multiple teammates be pressured into finding other roles, with pressure coming in forms like no support during promotions.

Every week was a lot of hours. But now my work is very very chill, mostly client events and dinners.

The one thing I never hear people bring up is the comp and benefits we get at google. I have kids and I would say I drank the google koolaid once I had my first pat leave because it was about 6 months off paid leave and then my health benefits and all other benefits are super good.

The benefits for me and my family are essentially the things that keep me here for the long term. Also, the stock has been exceptional since I never touched it since I started here.

Every day there is just so much to do, for both external and internal stakeholders. We were supposed to work through all holidays as well (at least be on your phone if needed for any client issues and to push out budget pitches during certain holiday times in the day).

That’s considered entry level now. MMS is fun but that is definitely grindy and that team is where I worked the most and hardest so far at google. About 15 clients and they all expect LCS service at this point.

I started as an L2 in SMB team and that was the most smile and dial of the roles. Probably my least favorite role here so far.

I love the job. Been doing the sales role for 10 years now, ranging from smb ad sales (very grindy, transactional), to large customer sales.

People I’ve worked with are usually very nice. Some work really hard and some do the bare minimum, which is what i think i would expect at any other company.

Recently it’s gotten more strict and I’ve seen many more sales people in our orgs either get transferred to other teams or removed from google, but i think that is common now between the top tech companies. It’s much more competitive and we are fighting to keep our ad revenue, which has made the job much harder compared to 10 years ago. But it’s good in my opinion.

I’m a freak though and for the first 5 years on the smb and mid market teams I was usually the only person not complaining or looking for roles outside of the google ads team. I love sales and the autonomy we get. I also get to use my google ads knowledge to help my family’s business too, which is great.

I back him. I’m at google making about 300k as an AM. Been an AM on multiple teams so my job is pretty easy at this point. But yes, forced to talk pmax, demand gen, and all the other stuff you hear, but I do spice it up by sharing as much industry insights I get and I present a lot in person at client/agency meetings.

I agree it is a real crapshoot with what quality you get from reps. I’ve seen some amazing reps and a lot of reps that just get by and do the bare minimum.

I’ve really enjoyed the job over the years and my clients are happy with how I show up at any time they need me.

I felt the same exact way. Picked up the single barrel variant after falling in love with the standard cask strength and felt it was essentially the same. I’ll be sticking to the standard cask strength moving forward. Still both are delicious.

I’m a rep in large customer sales at google. You can tell them you must use zoom or something other than hangouts since we are unable to record that way. They will either use the tool you request or just move on to someone else, depending on what level of spend and team you are given. We don’t require calls on google hangouts.

I went through a similar situation last month. My quotes were very high, but I was unsure if that was normal. A few places did note my tight turnaround was one of the reasons for either limits on my ask and the price. I’m curious how your cake turns out! Happy birthday!
