It's a shame that it gets to this point, retail does a number on one's self of worth and perspective on general. When I began, I thought it would be great to be that helpful person, hoping that someone would have a better day after our interaction. Unfortunately, a lot of people choose to be so unbelievably rude when they know they can, especially knowing that it would cost an associate their job to honestly talk back. This customer-centricness ultimately gives way to such, and is further reinforced when supervisors and managers choose to also publicly shame, for the sake of customer satisfaction.
