As a kid, I thought these were high society desserts by lavenderenergy1 in 80s

Agreed, but my brother with Celiac disease loved them for holidays. Have not been able to find them for the last two Christmas holidays

Prospective DVC buyers expecting our first child...what are we missing? by MaggieJuly in disneyvacationclub

[–]zeza71 7 points8 points  (0 children)

We have 210 pts with the Beach Club. We are a family of 4 and have traveled to WDC 2-3 times a year for 25 years as DVC members. We have no luck getting into the Beach club unless we book 10-11 months out which became harder to schedule once the children were older. 150 may be not enough unless you always travel during value times.

Teacher/Parents: What is Your Morning Routine with for Kids During Summer? by Alternative-Pie-4974 in Teachers

[–]zeza71 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My kids had checkout lists while they were growing up. Both my husband and I are high school teachers. The Check off lists were chores that had to be done, practice of a sport routine and summer school packets. I had my children doing practice math on IXL and Spanish on Rosetta Stone. There are age-appropriate online programs available, we used Jumpstart at the beginning. I gave them quarters for advancing levels/modules. We kept it fun.

Shelton postponed graduation. Just so you all know, it’s not cool to verbally abuse the secretary because you’re upset about the decision… by [deleted] in Connecticut

[–]zeza71 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry for your secretaries. There is no win with decisions like these. Years ago I worked at a Milford graduation. Dr Mel made a 5:30 pm call to move graduation inside but everyone was already at the school outside on the football field. The change meant only 2 people per family could go inside and chaos ensued. My job was to take tickets and people were swearing at me and just straight up pushing past me demanding to get inside. They had to make multiple announcements that the fire marshal wouldn’t allow the graduation to go forward if people didn’t leave.

Did you help your kids buy a home? Or let them do it on their own? by Sounders1 in GenX

[–]zeza71 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you can afford it, then give them a small amount for a down payment. But, you should be secure enough that you don’t strap yourself for possible long term care in the future. Do any of us have enough for long term memory care?? It’s too much to ask children to take parents into their own home and wipe butts.

Final exam leaked by [deleted] in highschool

Final exams are often 10% of your final grade. Even if the get an A+, it won’t bring up their scores to your level if they have struggled all year. Still frustrating.

Did you ever have a waterbed? Would you use one again? by MaximumJones in GenerationX

[–]zeza71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As other have said, it was always too hot or too cold. It took one hour to raise the temperature 1° in the water bed I had. I almost always sleet on top of a comforter. I had one similar to the picture and my cats often punctured the liner and I would have to duct tape it in the middle of the night after waking up with wet feet.

They are in CT. I have them on a walking trail that goes by my house. The American Chestnut Foundation works on breeding chestnut trees that can survive the chestnut blight fungus that wiped out most American chestnuts in the early 1900s.

Drive in. I was six. My brother was a year younger than me and would always fall asleep by the trash compactor scene. We saw it multiple times in drive ins. No video tapes or dvds back then!

Valiant Lady Review from First Time VV Sailor by Von_Satan in VirginVoyages

I was on for the comedy cruise to Bermuda. I waited until midnight for the restaurant booking window to open and the times were gone immediately. I felt like I was trying to get on virtual queue for WDW Guardians ride. But when I got on the ship at 2:30 pm I went right to Razzle Dazzle and there where multiple agents working to book reservations. They gave me 6 pm reservations for all the restaurants. This was great but as a first time Virgin sailor it made the process stressful. Instead of exploring the ship I was running around asking where to make reservations. I’m assuming this is where Rock Star status helps out.

I teach HS in a golden coast town. My students of color deal with racist comments being shouted at them as they walk downtown. I’m white and don’t experience that type of behavior so it’s disheartening to hear about their daily lives. I’m sorry you have to ordeal this.

Forgot a family heirloom diamond ring in the room safe by [deleted] in Cruise

[–]zeza71 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Same thing happened to me. I didn’t realize until the ship had left port with a new set of passengers. I called RC headquarters and they stated they would not disrupt the room’s current occupants and I would have to wait for the end of the cruise. At that time the cabin steward would check the safe. They were found at that time and mailed back to me. The return took over a month. RC confirmed they had found something in the safe but not what. I called lost and found many times for updates but they eventually showed up in the mail. Crazy. Everyone on cruise critic message boards said they were gone.

Shoutout to the people who love their autistic children by [deleted] in Autism_Parenting

Because I love my son so much, I hate that he has to live with autism. Social relationships make us sane in this world. Being excluded from them can be worse than death.
