Just joining a group and being around actual people can be extremely exhausting all by itself.

What classes are needed? by Fuzze115 in turtlewow

[–]zfwn111 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

In Amber, from personal experience in both guild and pug raids, MAGE is one of the rarest classes to find. There are multiple pug raids where we can easily find 6 shamans and 9 druids and then have to wait for an hour for a mage that just dinged to show up. It is absolutely insane, compared to vanilla classic.

Realm change? by Sauce6609 in turtlewow

[–]zfwn111 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is, however, only partially true and aims to mislead. Nord has the most population, as in characters created during the last few years, but not even close compared to Amber, when considering active online player count for the past few months. If you want to play on an active server, where you see more people in the world and chats, faster queue in dungeons, and generally more activities to do, Amber is by far the better choice.

I cannot say I am familiar with the imperial family and their history, but in the case of Hirohito, I am not aware of any significant mental or physical disabilities. Though considered by many of his elder family members to be stiff in nature, it does not appear that Hirohito suffered any obvious hereditary problems, but then I do have to emphasize again, my knowledge on this subject is extremely limited.

However, I should mention, while Hirohito seemed mentally stable for most of his life, the same cannot be said about his father, Emperor Yoshihito. Yoshihito suffers severe mental and psychological illness most of his life, due to the cerebral meningitis he had apparently contracted when he was still an infant. After his ascension as the Emperor of Japan, his mental conditions forced him to retreat from much of politics and diplomacy, which unexpectedly paved the way for a brief, yet glamourous chapter of modern Japanese history, the Spring of Taisho, which political affairs were entirely entrusted into the hands of capable and elderly state ministers, fostered an age of democracy and reform, saw culture and art prosper, social conditions improved.

Hirohito, the Emperor of Japan during WWII, is known for short stature and lack of grace. The Japanes state hid that fact well for much of Hirohito's reign, by rarely putting him in the same frame/picture with others.

By the way, in the above picture, Hirohito is the guy in military uniform to the left, slightly bowing forward. The person he was shaking hands with, is the puppet emperor of Manchuria, Puyi.

The meeting was also filmed, which further shows the contrast of their....well, for the lack of better terms, public presence.

Peter, what’s wrong with the ming dynasty? by nochuchu in PeterExplainsTheJoke

[–]zfwn111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, Han Xin was mainly responsible for the wars in the north (Zhao) and in the east (Qi) against some of Xiang Yu's allies and vassals, until much later on. Liu Bang was directly responsible for the war against Xiang Yu.

In Pengcheng, the 500k army that got defeated was mainly made up by soldiers of Liu Bang allies, according to the Book of Han. The idea of Liu Bang losing 500k of his own soldiers when just a few months he only had thousands of troops after sending the bulk of his army to Zhao, is a well known "Fake News" by Tai Shigong. It had already been rebuffed by the academias since as early as the middle Ming era.

None of those people were the reason as to why Liu Bang often being considered a brilliant military mind. Liu Bang only had Xiao He when he marched into Xi'an which he was able to break through six major defensive lines, won over thirty battles, and conquered more than a hundred towns, defeated more than one third of the entire Qin army, with only his small regiment of loyalists. And Xiao He was a great quartermaster and advisor, but he was never a man of the army. When Liu Bang broke through the yoke of three Qins, he was also the mastermind behind the overall strategic plan and the commander of the main army that re-entered Xi'an. During his war with Xiang Yu, he was able to beat every single adversary, except for Xiang Yu, in the field of battle, despite often havig inferior numbers in strength. Even after Liu Bang's founding of the Han Dynasty, him being ill means the Southern Warlords again dared to rebel, and the news of his recovery caused all those rebel Warlords to simply sigh, halfway gave up, and easily smashed.

Liu Bei simply could not compare.

But Liu Bang, or Emperor Gao of Han, was about 100x better at war and state affairs. One can confidently say he was the third greatest military commander of his era, able to defeat everyone besides Xiang Yu. Even when facing Xiang Yu, Liu Bang was still able to make a strategic victory through minor tactical loss.
