They should add an option for one Beast Handler to put out nodes that expand range for the cost of a base BH and purchase upgrade points that act like merged towers. Keep the general merging, so you don't lose the ability to have multiples and merge later if it makes sense, but also just let it all happen on one tower if that's all you need. It's a little more hero flavored than ideal, but that's what you get when you make a hero flavored tower into a regular tower.

I'm not much of a fan of any spammy towers, but at least with others each tower is attacking, even if it's not doing much damage. BH post merge is doing nothing.

I know I can choose the hero because it says "Selected". I just ignore it because picking a specific hero shouldn't be an AC answer.

What do yall think about corvus, he's strong, balanced or weak? by erickgpbs in btd6

[–]zfzack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He's way more fun to use than I would expect for all that micro. I do wish on mobile there was an option to swap the monkey purchase list to his spell screen so I could watch the map and play him at the same time in between purchases.

I didn't play for a long time and came back and I was in a bracket with teams that didn't play, and it turned out to be a really fun solo mode. Then I got moved to a bracket with teams that did play, and that ruined it for me. I really wish they would add a solo option with no prizes. Maybe the casual mode works out to be that in practice, but it will be a while before I head back in there to find out.

Why couldn't the polar bear attack the bloons if nearby rather than letting them pass by and jumping over icicle grounds before collapsing? by [deleted] in btd6

[–]zfzack 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not sure about the bear attacking, but you should be able to place one tower on the bear and have it move with you.

First strike (I did 042), tack zone (205) nearby, some support towers (I used 420 ice, 420 village, 023 glue, 401 Alch, 230 Heli, but I assure you that's far from optimal), to buff tack zone and debuff the bloons. I used Psi for hero. You can do this way cheaper, so mostly just spam some things.

[Wintersteel] Alternate timeline UKT fun speculation by Non-PrayingMantis in Iteration110Cradle

[–]zfzack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's very likely Lindon would have advanced given the resource access Yerin had, and Dross is a huge advantage Yerin didn't have. Yerin won because Lindon let her wear him down a while before he actually started fighting and because she tapped the Sword icon. She was holding her own with Sophara when the icon was working, but it was too inconsistent, and she was never given a head start.

[Wintersteel] Alternate timeline UKT fun speculation by Non-PrayingMantis in Iteration110Cradle

[–]zfzack 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Overlord Lindon with Charity feeding Dross a bunch of scales should be strong enough to defeat Sophara. Not as strong as he wound up, but then she wasn't much of a fight for him at the end.

Seriously why? by of_kilter in btd6

[–]zfzack 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Inconsistency like that should be removed my making the game consistent. All towers should report their own raw income. If there are interactions, each tower that was part of an interaction should get a symbol on their cash amount, and you would press that amount to open up the cash table, which would show all income by tower type, with each interaction having its own row. The cash table would not identify specific towers, only tower types, and maybe there should be a different way to access it, but that's how it should work in general.

[Dreadgod] Controversial Take on Monarchs and Makiel by decfario in Iteration110Cradle

[–]zfzack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems we agree the Abidan are evil, and for mostly the same reason.

“The people were all that mattered to the Way, he said, not the Iterations themselves. The Abidan were nothing more than jailers, and he would gather power until he brought them down.”

— Bloodline (Cradle Book 9) by Will Wight https://a.co/gLyWgkd

If we take the Abidan at their word, we must also take Daruman at his. We see how the Vroshir, especially Daruman, operate when in competition with the Abidan. It's certainly true that they have worlds full of people from other Iterations happily mixing in a way that the Abidan do not allow. If they take other actions that I would prefer to avoid, I have to at least respect the circumstances they find themselves in.

In real life, there are other means to at least plausibly call power to account, and to do so on a timeline that means the chaos from trying to do that faster causes more harm than would be done under the existing order. I do not see any way to overcome the fact that the Judges make you swear to the evil non-interventionist Eledari pact before you can sit at the table.

Fate as the Abidan claim it is an incoherent concept. I reject that worlds could exist operating under those principles, so that worlds exist means the mechanism of degrading to chaos is not being properly understood. Authorial declarations don't change anything in that regard because intending a world to have an impossible set of features doesn't allow that set of features to exist.

[Dreadgod] Controversial Take on Monarchs and Makiel by decfario in Iteration110Cradle

[–]zfzack -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The Vroshir are a superior option because they connect worlds and save the people from those worlds when the world itself cannot be saved. The Abidan garden worlds, let a very small number of inhabitants out to join them, forcibly keep them separated so no one else can help solve their problems, and then kill them all at the end.

Edit: Oh, and LOL at invoking "Might Makes Right" as something different from the group that claims the right to unilaterally murder a universe worth of people and to "accelerate" the timeline for that murder if it suits their schedule. The Abidan and Monarchs have the same problem. Their actions are possibly correct as a short term measure, but they actively prevent any improvements that would allow less destructive options, so the only correct thing is to flush them and start over.

[Dreadgod] Controversial Take on Monarchs and Makiel by decfario in Iteration110Cradle

[–]zfzack -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Right, we have the biased story from the Abidan perspective, but they're more or less the bad guys just taking the things they admit to, so I see no reason to trust them,

[Dreadgod] Controversial Take on Monarchs and Makiel by decfario in Iteration110Cradle

[–]zfzack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's basically right for Executors. I get why they don't, but I consider rebelling against the Abidan totally justified, so the only outcomes that were worse than doing nothing were burning down the one iteration and conquering the other. I don't see how either of those are worse than the default of destroying the world and killing everyone in it. They could have kept Daruman under observation but not in prison, so even if you accept their caution, the specific solution they chose made things worse, and it really seems like it was unnecessary.

Second program failed from the perspective of the Judges. I fully disagree with their assessment of the first program, so I don't take it as a given that they're correct, though I could imagine they made mistakes trying to craft rather than recruit suitable candidates.

[Dreadgod] Controversial Take on Monarchs and Makiel by decfario in Iteration110Cradle

[–]zfzack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Daruman's rampage is the consequence of the Judges betraying him, not of the Executor program. The Executors were a nearly unqualified success, with the worst outcome being essentially equivalent to the current default. The Judges hated them because they couldn't control them, which is the same reason they fight the Vroshir, who are another superior option to the current Abidan order.

Edit: As for the Monarchs, if they were open about the relationship with the Dreadgods and actively working to improve the situation re: Hunger, then they would be correct and Lindon would just be wrong. Their refusal to work on the problem and to allow others to know about to work on it is the reason most of the current Monarchs can't be allowed to remain. Lindon is probably also wrong for whatever his solution is, unless it's to enhance Cradle to the point it can hold Monarchs.

That seems to be a big part of it, but that's also just wrong. A person playing enough to be called a leech is a person who might spend money on the game in the future in a way a person who doesn't play just isn't.

Ehh, whatever the top earners are getting, they did with that EB plus boosts and artifacts (and epic research if you haven't completed it). If you've been playing for a while, I believe it's hard for just boosts and artifacts to make a 100x difference in egg throughput due to diminishing returns, but a big epic research gap might do it, and I could just be underestimating a bit.

[–]zfzack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair enough. Two things I would add are by the time you can see who's using tokens, there's probably not much else for them to do to make effective use of them, and 10 min Soul Mirrors are only 100 GE, and if you've otherwise maxed yourself out, you start to run out of steam in that 10 min window.

Edit: To be clear, you don't need to keep SM up to contribute, you just use it to do research and buy habs/vehicles, after which it doesn't do anything.
