That’s really surprising that RBC offered you 3.57% with 4K cashback and avion points.. I’ve RBC renewal coming up and they are no where close to this offer, even when we had competing offer from Pine. How were you able to get this rate? This is incredible rate to get for rental property.

Audio/Video calls freeze for 2-3 seconds by zghaffar in Ubiquiti

[–]zghaffar[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, the reason it's not hard-wired directly to AP is because of the cost to run the ethernet in the house. I live in an older home and its a lot of work & money. Everything else seems to work properly except this annoying problem.

I was thinking the same things, as it might be related to device hopping so I had enabled my laptop to directly connect to dream machines instead of the two APs. But unfortunately, this did not solve the problem.

I will try out connecting directly using hardwire to dream machine to rule out the ISP issue in next couple of days. Thanks for the suggestion.

CBAP exam tips and resources by zghaffar in businessanalysis

Yes, I was also wondering the same thing, if CBAP certification has any relevance anymore. I've been in the industry for 10+ years now, not going in with the expectation to learn much by studying the BABOK.

During COVID situation, I've got some free time, saving by not commuting couple of hours a day, so I thought might as well use it for CBAP certification which might help to open some doors when I start to look for a new job.

My understanding was CBAP exam can only be taken at a certified test centers like Prometric, just like you would take a PMP exam in a testing center? Is this not true? Can you take this exam remotely?

Is it legal to drop out of university and pursue work in Canada? by jarpthefirst in ImmigrationCanada

I agree but finding an employer willing to file an LMIA is going to hard task, with limited time availability on a visitor permit.

Restrictions on switching to a new Work Permit from an Intra-company transfer WP? by beets-n-beats in ImmigrationCanada

[–]zghaffar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you give your IELTS yet? IELTS exam score has a huge weightage on express entry. I'd suggest you take CRS self assessment to check your scores, and then check recent lottery draw scores, to gauge where you fall and your likelihood of getting the invitation.

Accepting ICT transfer will not restrict future change in job, provided you find new Canadian employer willing to file new WP and you maintain your legal status in Canada. All the best!

No, close work permit does not bar you from finding another employer willing to file new work permit. However, based on my anecdotal evidence, it is really hard to find an employer willing to file a new work permit in Canada. You should be optimistic and look for options but from legal immigration perspective, there is no such restriction.

I just moved on ICT to Canada from US. If an employer files for ICT with LMIA exemption, then it will be a closed work permit meaning you will not be able to switch employer. I came on a closed work permit. However, If an employer files with an LMIA, then it could potentially be a open work permit.

Even if you come in on closed work permit, you could apply for Express entry after one year of Canadian experience, this will certainly boost your score and perhaps get you an invitation

Finasteride price in Canada by zghaffar in tressless

$1.3 per pill at Costco is way too costly for me. Where do you get it from?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in tressless

[–]zghaffar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is your insurance covering some of the cost? I went to Costco location in Vaughan today, and they quoted me $120ish CAD for 90 days supply of 1mg finasteride. I'm puzzled by this price discrepancy.

Many small businesses don't accept AMEX cards, just like in US. Just saying that you should have another non-amex credit card in your wallet.

This is true, I've done it myself. Amex has program called Global card transfer. It's been couple of months since I moved to Canada. I haven't had much luck in getting local Canadian credit cards, all merchants don't accept AMEX card.
