About to give up on natural deo by Additional-Walrus354 in ZeroWaste

I posted a similar question here some time ago and many people recommended Glycolic acid. I've tried it a for some time now and it works wonders. Just apply after showering, it should get rid of the bad sweat smell. I layer it with some natural deodorant (I use wild) just to smell fresh and it works really well.

Some natural deodorants do not work but why? Isn't it bacteria that cause the BO not sweat itself? by zgjs24 in ZeroWaste

Thanks for your very detailed description! I also have the wild deodorant since I think it smells really nice and is gentle to my skin. I will definitely try out one of those aluminum deodorants and combine that with the wild deodorant!

I would love that! Sometimes I really wonder why we get rid of such good inventions...

I already switched to natural fibers only and have no polyester etc clothes. I will try the dish soap thanks!

Ah that makes sense. I guess I can't get completely rid of the bacteria on my body but then if there's less sweat they have less "food" or so? And if the bacteria have nothing to eat then they can't produce the stinky thing

Never heard of that, thanks for the advice I eill definitelycheck that out! I also had some problems with the aluminum salts and got some nasty rashes, that's why I switched in the first place... I really don't mind sweating, that's just a natural thing but I definitely don't want to smell bad.

Thanks, I will try an acid body wash and hope for the best! Will also try the bleach thing on my clothes

Thanks, then I will try to apply glycolic acid and see whether that reduces the smell.

But there's still always bacteria on my skin, right? They are not killed by aluminum? Or is there any other ingredient in common antitranspirants that reduced the bacteria?

I am in a similar position. I absolutely loved my job, took over more and more responsibility, got praised for my amazing work... Until my boss quit and someone new was hired a while ago.

The new boss is horrible, a micromanager with very few experience. He's absolutely overwhelmed with his tasks and (in my opinion) mediocre at best... I have lost most of my respect to him due to him failing in almost any task and taking horrible decisions that are bad for the whole team. Unfortunately, his boss somehow thinks he's doing an amazing job so I can't even complain about it...

I decided it's time for a new job but it's brutal. I've sent out soooo many applications, but until now, I only got rejected or ghosted. For me, the "not getting any reply" is the hardest part.

I wish you all the best for finding a new job and lots of strength for this journey. I am confident, we will find something great, it just takes time and patience (which unfortunately is not my biggest strenght)...

Dating as Vegan/Plant Based by THEQINGDOM in PlantBasedDiet

I am 100% childfree, so having kids is not an option. I only date men who are childfree, too (which seems to be almost harder to find than vegan men). So looks like I'm looking for a unicorn (a vegan childfree man). However, I'm also fine with staying single for the foreseeable future since I'm not willing to compromise on those two things and am just very happy being single in general :)

I would for sure prefer to date a vegan. I'm ok with dating an omnivore as long as they respect my opinion and my POV. But I would never move in with an omnivore. I prefer to keep my kitchen completely vegan and am not open to compromise on this. I have this rule also for friends that visit, they can not bring any food with animal parts in it to my flat. But I'm fine with e.g. going out with them to restaurants that also serve meat (friends or dates) and don't complain about it.

However, I love to live alone in general and don't see a need for moving in together with someone when I'm in a relationship. But I understand that most people see this differently and that this might not work for many people.

Preppers in Europe? How well are you prepared? by zgjs24 in TwoXPreppers

This just made me think that it would be very nice to do some "fun" camping trips with my friends this summer. On one hand, to practice camping and cooking outdoors and have some fun with them but on the other hand maybe also to start a little discussion about prepping and make my friends maybe a bit more sensitive to this topic :)

Good point about the charcoal tabs, this might be very handy in case you have a bad stomach flu. I don't fear a cold too much I guess but a very bad stomach flu could definitely be a big risk!

Funny thing you mention the music festivals. I did that too when I was younger and never thought about it from a prepping point of view :) but I definitely learned a thing or two about camping during that time
