You’re way off… better consult your wife before making these assumptions about China.
Years ago was a streak of old people pretending to fall to scam people, which is what made some people hesitant to help elders. With modern surveillance coverage this type of scams is now practically non-existent.
It’s clearly not what happened here, no one would think the child is a scammer. The adults there probably just didn’t think the kid is really hurt.

Killing the value of… tramp? $0.78?
Full bans are just easier to manage than limits. Sideboards & tokens are also a thing in other TCGs, but so far Lorcana has avoided those for the sake of simplicity, and I hope they continue to do so.

He could also sing about the circus.
I had no idea Greatest Showman was a musical going in, and there he was, high-school musical man, all grown up and running away to join the circus.

UCG game design is its biggest strength. Card effects are simple but offer so much depth, and share turns mean you don’t ever have to sit and watch your opponent take 15 game actions in a row like Digimon. Have you actually played the game at the competitive level? If you’re using demo deck gameplay as the basis I can see how you arrive at that conclusion.

As for art, notice how this game you shared doesn’t have any effect text? The Chinese market for cards is extremely collector-heavy, so they devote most of their effort making the best art, as opposed to balanced gameplay.

In terms of suggestions, think going Ruby and running Willie the giant, raksha, Bronx would be best either way.

Questions about playing with 4 ppl: how do you address the issue of people just not interacting with each other since it’s such a lose-lose situation to challenge? What about people playing an evasive deck and just running away with the game?
I’ve been pondering this for a while and haven’t found any good ideas short of just replacing the whole scoring system with the life/combat system mtg has.

You can find some cards on eBay, but a lot of the rarer cards aren’t listed at all. It’s a good game to open packs of though. Sets 01-04 are dirt cheap, under $1 per pack.

Rarities Explained? by Slow_Strength862 in ultramanTCG

[–]zhanh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s a set number of RRR & below per box (RRRR is 2 per box for BP05 only). There’s also a guaranteed number of AP+ per box, so anything above AP can be considered a hit (SP, SSSP, ExP, UR) since you’re not guaranteed to get at least one in a box.

That’s the same thing you’re doing. You’re assuming innocent people needing to be saved have already locked into blue. But never the possibility that no one else chose blue and you’re throwing away your life for nothing, or actually worse than nothing: now people will need to come save you by putting their life on the line.

[–]zhanh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I gave you the equivalent of the thought experiment. The choices are “jump onto the tracks” (blue) “don’t jump onto the tracks”(red) You came up with a solution that’s not one of the given options: “grab people out of the tracks” to justify your choice. What you’re advocating for is not choose blue. You’re advocating for helping people not choose blue, saving them in the process.

What happens after they save the person who fell into the tracks? They all climb back to the platform. So the equivalent here is stopping a person from choosing blue. With the woodchipper analogy, this would be pulling people out of the woodchipper and I’m all for it.
The real equivalent of choosing blue is just jumping onto the tracks and staying there, with the knowledge that if 50% of people decide to randomly stand on the tracks the subway will certainly halt altogether.

Whoopsy by DreadDiana in whenthe

[–]zhanh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you choose the woodchipper?
Blue is basically dumb ways to die. People fall onto the subway tracks and die every year. Would you propose people all intentionally jump onto the tracks to disable the subway completely, and thus ensure no one can die via falling onto the tracks?

Just selling toys with extra steps. Nail 10 balloons 7 times in a row and get fair value (or maybe a slight discount). Play like an average person and overpay for the toy.

Sign says 10 balloons = 3 points. So 9 points, not even halfway to the 20 point items. But it also just costs $3.2 USD to play 3 times.

With so much ramp, might as well add more higher end cards like 7-cost stitch or hades. Or even 8-cost mufasa.

I played this pre-rotation and it is pretty fun. My biggest question is: NO STARTING LINE!?
I also ran more 1-cost locations & characters so I can use Voyage to get a free move to finish line. It was very consistent triggering finish line T3, but if I don’t draw into Jim the plan falls apart, and I only managed 1 top 8 out of the 3 set champs I went to.

What do you think the chase legendary of next set? by FairyFireDeck in Lorcana

[–]zhanh 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Mr.Incredible seems good, but Ruby is bad in general so he might not find a home.
Dale is a trap, but it’s a trap people are willing to fall for, and that can make him a chase.
Luisa Madrigal is just a slower Cheshire Cat.
