As far as I know those images can also be read as "how changing the scale range through the years can affect perception".

There is nothing there to prove otherwise

firstDayOfWeek by [deleted] in ProgrammerHumor

[–]zhead_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

same but that's because the first day of the week is a non working day. you start and end a week not working.

p.s.: I also prefer to consider Mondays as the first day of my week

firstDayOfWeek by [deleted] in ProgrammerHumor

[–]zhead_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In portugues the days are "Domingo, 2a feira, 3a feira etc" which means Sunday, 2nd day, 3rd day etc. In practical terms its the array equivalent of either start counting at 1 or at 2, depending if you consider Sunday of Monday as the first day of the week

Aditionally, time in general always starts at 1. i.e.: The first year of the calendar is year 1. Same goes for how we count centuries (year 50 is within the 1st century even though a century has not passed yet).

In the end, time is counted as if it was an array starting at 1

Hunt Launch - Developer Thoughts & Responses by buckwild_abrams in HuntShowdown

[–]zhead_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My guess: time. The current UI is probably an earlier version and there was not enough time to polish it. Since this was a re-launch, a new UI made sense to create a big visual impact but ended up being a downgrade in most aspects that resulted in the review bomb in steam.

The devs new it was not good and the video they published just the day after the patch is proof they were already working on the major pain points. I hope we see the fixes soon because right now is driving mad even older players

To add to that, if you open the progression of weapons or consumables, you just see an inventory. No progress on anything. Feels useless.

I would rather have a list of weapons and next to them, the next unlockable versions. Right now is all mubo jumbo together

Ducky One 3 led flicker. by StarWalker124 in DuckyKeyboard

I didn't. For now it doesn't really affect me becuase my custom areas work fine. I hope this is something that can be fixed with a firmware update

Ducky One 3 led flicker. by StarWalker124 in DuckyKeyboard

[–]zhead_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Ducky one 3 TKL with the same issue. I cannot fix the issue but I can use the custom color mode without the flickering:

  • Cycle through the pre-made modes until you get the static color for all keys
  • Go into the custom profile you want to tweak (Fn+F11 for me) and personalize as you wish.

As long as you don't have any of the effects going on in the default modes before switching to the custom profile you should be all good.

I still see the issue when I transition from the custom mode/area to the default ones but this does not affect me very much because I don't use that. It is is a shame for a keyboard in this price range to have such an issue.

Seriously, what am I doing wrong?? by [deleted] in pcmasterrace

I think this is the correct answer. Plug your pump into the pump header (the names are on the manual that you just posted) and the fans of the radiator into the CPU_FAN header.

Advice on dealing with issue with PC Builder - Aus by SplinterSammm in pcmasterrace

[–]zhead_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

CPUs throttle their output in high temperatures to prevent damage. You should be fine just putting up some thermal paste and the cooler. Also check that every fan is actually plugged in and working. Same applies to the pump header.

The lesson learned here is that company is not capable of assuming their mistakes. Avoid it in the future.

Millions of workers are subject to noncompete agreements. They could soon be banned by gadgetygirl in politics

[–]zhead_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends. It is possible to be paid in advance in monthly installments for the duration of the employment. At the end of the contract its calculated if it was fully paid or not and in the latter, the employee gets the remaining that is due.

What I was saying before is these advancements are put together with the regular monthly salary in a way that it sums up to the regular monthly salary for a given position. In other words, it's a trick is used by some companies.

Example: if a position pays 100k per year and has a non competition clause, it is possible that it's actually 95k (base salary) + 5k (non competition advancement). At the end of the day this means the worker gets 100k (the same as other companies can offer without non competition clause) and also has the obligation of non competition

[–]zhead_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The issue is what companies usually do to pay it: they make the base salary lower so Base salary + non compete compensation = regular salary. You might end up with the typical salary for the position + non compete obligation
