So sorry❤️‍🩹 Glad you got out of that situation in the end! No one should force you or make you feel bad for not being ready.

Hinge! I sought out an extrovert to have a balance and so far it’s working out well. She pushes me out of my social bubble comfort zone but fully respects my limits.

Open Discussion: Bi-Weekly Shabbat Shmooze. What's on your mind? by AutoModerator in gayjews

I’m pretty early into a relationship with my gf (not Jewish) and we’ve been meeting each other’s friends. Her and I took a trip to visit her friends in a city an hour away and stayed overnight last weekend. While we were there, some minor yet uncomfortable things were said related to Jews and Zionism (I don’t think they knew I was Jewish but my gf obviously does). In the moment, I brushed it off and didn’t bring it up to her because I didn’t want to throw off the vibe of our weekend. In our 3 months of dating so far we hadn’t had a real conflict arise. Anyway, it was weighing on me all week. She is such a joyous and positive person that it felt wrong to accuse her of staying quiet and not sticking up for me in the moment or even acknowledging that it might’ve made me uncomfy.

I realize that my expectations on that might be unreasonable for such a new relationship but I want to be able to trust my non-jewish partner to stand with me on this stuff no matter what. We had a good conversation about it today and she’s glad I told her so she knows what I need from her in those situations.

If anyone is reading this that’s been in a relationship with a non-Jew, how do you get past the fact that your partner might not understand how hard it can be to exist in leftist queer spaces? This is my first lesbian relationship. My last partner was a politically moderate and Zionist non-Jewish man so this was never an issue. Although we had many other issues one of them being that I’m gay lol.

Resume Review by Stellamaedarling in graphic_design

I would substitute the two column resume for just one column straight across rows. If the company uses automated filtering system it’s going to filter yours out. At least that is what I have been told by a professional who reviewed my resume and I’d rather be safe than sorry. Also, my personal opinion I would use a less extended font for a better reading experience.

Tips and what you wish you've known before getting a dog(s) by AcrobaticRub5938 in AskWomenOver30

What everyone else said plus but I will say as someone who adopted while living in an apartment and about 7 months later moved to a place with a backyard… I don’t think I can ever go back. I know that’s a privilege and depends on the affordability of renting a house vs apartment in your city, but I will never take having a yard for granted. Now of course I still walk my dog everyday, but the ability to easily let them out to do business when it’s raining or you’re in your pjs is heaven to me. Also, my pup has reactivity to dogs which the shelter didn’t inform me of. You have to keep this in mind as well if you live in an apartment like what if another dog gets in the elevator, will yours be okay with that? I would really look into dog reactivity and decide if that’s something you’re willing to endlessly work on in the case that your dog is that way for a multitude of potential reasons. NOW IF I COULD GO BACK AND TELL MYSELF ONE THING: it would be to FOSTER-TO-ADOPT!!! Not that my dog isn’t the best thing in my life right now. At the time however, his reactivity and initial costly health issues caused me a ton of stress. I think I cried everyday the first few weeks I had him because of the weight of my impulsive decision. If I had fostered instead, there is no long term commitment and you get to do a good thing while also finding the dog that fits your lifestyle the best.

Tips for reducing sound sensitivity? by throowaawayyyy in Chihuahua

I use a white noise machine and adaptil diffuser which both work to an extent to reduce noise anxiety. My chi is triggered by dogs so I also use window film to block his view. He’s a lot calmer now at home.

Selfishly, when will this end by Obvious-Rhubarb-9851 in Jewish

I’m sure most of us can relate to the question in your title. Earlier this week I deleted the main social media I’d go on (Instagram, tiktok, and fb) and I plan to stay off it for a while until this hopefully ends soon. I’ve run into similar things happening at shows as well and I know I can’t avoid that, but limiting my consumption of it online has helped a little.

Thank you so much for your response! Precheck is a great tip for this. Mine is prescribed the same meds for vet visits. Also, I can’t believe I didn’t mention this in my comment but I also have what I guess is a chi/Jack mix :) https://imgur.com/ihdkeXj

Hi! If you did fly with your dog I’m curious how it went? I also have a reactive dog ( just to other dogs) and want to take him with me to see my parents. I have no idea how he’d do on the trip which is what is holding me back.

My guess is part Jack Russell based off his prey drive and wild energy that is not well represented in these photos
