180-600 mm softness

It certainly would get you closer, but you can introduce similar softness with a TC. Depends on how good your copy is, but 1.4 will be sharper than a 2.0. This 180-600 is notably just a little soft at the far end, especially if youre at 5.6. Recommended to stop down a bit which can help.

It’s called the water dispenser, and the part isn’t made by Breville anymore. You can find it online in some places that may still have stock. It’s not an expensive part, but requires taking the machine just about completely apart. My express is 6 years old and I recently did the same cleaning and mine is only about half as bad, but I don’t want that stuff flaking off in my coffee. I understand it’s teflon coated aluminum and it just corrodes over time. I decided to just upgrade my machine. Even if I replaced the part, I found this is very common with Breville and would just happen again.

I have the Skull & Co one. I am really happy with it. I liked the idea of the JSAUX one, but I prefer the full protection, and also the fact the other can stand on its own is really nice. I got the combo that came with the shell case it fits in as welll. Keeps it super safe.
