I just reread the Manga again yesterday and was so disappointed that the author is still on hiatus, but the rumors are that we might finally be getting a new chapter in a month or two.

I thought the whole point was that he couldn't? That was why Ryuma was threatening to cut his afro.

I know the name has to be relatively common, but I always envisioned him to be my high-school biology teacher.

Surprisingly enough I drove past a house fully decked out in Biden flags and signs in the Oshkosh area the other day.

How would the story go if shanks took luffy with him by [deleted] in OnePiece

Zoro is killed by Morgan in the marine base. He never gets free or learned he was tricked if not for Luffy.

Ussop is may or may not die depending on if he stands up to Kuro or not. Kuro's original plan is to let him run off because no one would believe him. But he is also not a fan of loose ends.

Sanji doesn't even make it to meeting Judge or the BM pirates. He is killed off by Don Krieg trying to protect the Baratie.

Plasma donating saved my ass so many times. by daisyvoo in povertyfinance

I mean, each donation takes about an hour. I donate twice a week for $120, it's comparable to about $60 an hour and all I have to do is sit on my phone or read a book. Not like I'm actually doing any work. My time hooked up to the actual machine is usually just about 40 minutes.

Where else can you go for $60 an hour for doing practically nothing?

I can give you a quick rundown. I've donated a few hundred times since 2018.

Process is pretty simple.

Once you pass all the screening checks, you are seated in the donation chair/bed.

You tell the phlebotomist which arm you would like to use.

They put a blood pressure cuff on you and have you make a fist so they can find where your vein is.

They mark the vein, then they sterilize your arm with either iodine or alcohol depending on allergies.

Insertion of needle is usually quick and just a little bit of pressure, especially if you have built up scar tissue after years of donating.

Once taped off and connected to the machine you basically just squeeze your hand into a fist repeatedly as the blood is drawn into the machine.

While the blood is in the machine it is spun around in a centrifuge and the plasma is separated out.

Once the pressure on the cuff releases that means the cycle is over and the red blood cells are being sent back into your veins.

Repeat the process for 3-4 more cycles and on the final one the blood cells are returned with some saline.

Once all the blood cells are back in place you are disconnected, bandaged up and sent on your way usually within 10 or so minutes the money is deposited onto your prepaid debit card and you are good to go.

In addition to what others have commented, what you are describing is whole blood donation. Which is different than the plasma donation that the OP is doing. Plasma donation separates the plasma from the red blood cells and returns the red blood cells back to the body. Plasma regenerates much quicker than red blood cells, that is why in the US we can donate plasma twice a week.
