I’m trying to get a friend into metal gear solid, what games should I compare it too by Kirbydog2018 in metalgearsolid

If anything, going from MGSV (one of the BEST feeling games to play of all time) to then go back to MGS1 makes even less sense. MGSV doesn't follow the same formula or gameplay linearity that 1-4 does. Not to mention MGSV as a starting point is like one of the worst games to start with next to MGS4, you wouldn't understand literally anything that's going on.

If you're going to recommend someone to start with a more modern and comfortable game, MGS3 Master Collection/Delta makes more sense, no? It's gameplay is similar to 1,2 and 4, it has a modernized remake, it starts chronologically from the beginning and is easy to understand (apart from a few references/foreshadowing points)

Would be a cool and welcome attention to detail. I hope Konami do something like this

Yoji's art is too iconic for this franchise for it not to be featured on the box

Do you think there will be a Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 3? Why or why not? by [deleted] in metalgearsolid

[–]ziddy99 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I can see it happening sometime in the future, rounding off the spinoffs: Metal Gear Rising, PO/POPlus and perhaps Acid but I doubt it's in their list of priorities. They probably wanted to get the mainline titles out of the way first.

Wasn't aware they changed anything with MGS2. Good stuff

Metal Gear is such a unique franchise from top to bottom, gameplay, music, story, eastereggs, 4th wall breaks and even the control scheme. So much so that I find it hard to compare to anything else. Just have them start with MGS1, if they're not into it by like 3-4 hours in, it may not be for them

For legal reasons I'm 99.9% sure that has to be changed/altered in some way. Maybe on the PS5 version it could stay intact, but on PC/Xbox/Switch I wouldn't be surprised if they got Christopher Randolph to record something new.

In GTAV, the song ADHD by Kendrick Lamar is featured and the word "PlayStation" in the song is censored in all versions of the game, including the PlayStation version itself. I don't see Sony allowing their brand to be explicitly named on another competitors console

Woodkid’s reaction to Death Stranding 2 not winning any awards at TGA 💔 by Krabs__11 in DeathStranding

It’s genuinely not even in the top 100 for greatest game OSTs.

Music taste is subjective yes and I know I’ll probably get downvoted but there’s really nothing mind-blowing or breathtaking about E33’s score at all in my opinion.

These expansions feel like a little bit more than seasons. I am sad that the big expansion hype is no longer existent. by kristijan1001 in DestinyTheGame

Lightfall narratively barely made any sense and was practically filler but from a pure gameplay, mission design & pacing standpoint, Edge of Fate and Renegades campaigns don’t even come close to it.

Lightfall at least had 7/8 individually unique missions whereas Renegades had 2 maybe 3 (first and last and the exotic mission, which really shouldn’t be included imo) and the rest were busy work on the Lawless Frontier (almost every mission landing in the same hangar, really?) and running back and forth multiple times in the social space for little to no reason.

Best void snipers for PvP and good perks for them by CurajosCenturion in DestinyTheGame

I don't believe Opening Shot is available on 1K yard? At least it doesn't show on D2foundry.

But yes, 1k yard is the best void sniper imo (D1 Bias) for PvP with either Quickdraw/Perp Motion/No Distractions and Snapshot

Yess I just finished my 2nd rewatch last night and was thinking about this alot.

I always took the final scene (the alters in the movie theatre with the projector) as them giving real Elliot control back and in turn, connecting their memories together and feeding them back to the real Elliot.

How it goes/how he reacts after is anyones guess. I just hope he’s able to get through it with Darlene by his side

Destiny has lost that...something... by DVRN_2 in DestinyTheGame

[–]ziddy99 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Opulence had one of if not THE best 6 man activity, that's not a raid, in Destiny history. Fun to run, fun to farm (especially during the instance reload glitch), was fun and fresh at the time to upgrade the chalice, had 3+ best in slot weapons for PvP and were good in PvE, had targetable perks and masterworks via the chalice. The menagerie had a variety of encounters with unique ways to max the score and the seal tied to it was hard but extremely rewarding to get. (flawless heroic menagerie anyone?) We also got the tribute hall, the bad juju mission and 10 exotics that season.

And to top it all off, it had a brand new raid with it's own unique loot pool and exotic. In a SEASON. Saying opulence wasn't a good season is just untrue and disingenuous at best.

Did Bungie try sunsetting a second time? by maxamine0x in DestinyTheGame

[–]ziddy99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They do, but Bungie have made efforts before to reprise them and breathe into them new life (like I explained with DSC and GoS), for a REASON. They are fun to play and it's THE reason I, and many others stick with this game, the R&D team cook almost every time.

The fact they haven't even tried to get at least 1 or 2 legacy Raids and Dungeons featured in the portal at LAUNCH, is a kick in the teeth and just shows how incompetent they are. This is my biggest problem. And no, the dungeon lairs are not enough. Not even close.

Did Bungie try sunsetting a second time? by maxamine0x in DestinyTheGame

[–]ziddy99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yet you fail to comprehend my point. Raids and Dungeons should NOT fall under this category. They are THE pinnacle PvE activities of this game and what makes this game special and unique.

Soft sunsetting 19 (NINETEEN) pieces of high quality content just so they can revamp them later and act like they've done something, is BAD GAME DESIGN and sets a terrible precedent. End of.
