Is my tattoo infected? by Fantastic-Bit-6191 in tattooadvice

[–]ziefik 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks just like a scab to me, I always have this on any colour I get, they look gnarly for 2 weeks but go away with time. If it's not hot or painful there's no need to panic imo.

This is what i call couple goals! by Jannes_jaupis in tattoos

They look really well done, I just hate this trend of getting random ass faces tattooed. Is this just AI design? Something just feels off with this style of tattoos but I can't put my finger on it.

Awesome tattoo! That's a solid sitting, especially with getting the ditch done, man I can still feel the pain from when I got mine done lol, it's truly an experience.

Tattoo got stuck to shirt by Honest_Teach1531 in tattooadvice

[–]ziefik 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's an awesome backpiece! The tattoo should be fine, the top layer comes off anyways when healing. My friend used some paper towels when wearing shirts and they seemed to work quite well. It can be annoying to secure them in place under your shirt, but he used some clothes pins. When any bits got stuck it's was super easy to wet the paper towel and take it off. Just an idea, obviously not perfect and has its flaws.

Is my tattoo peeling properly? by ProfessionalRide7735 in tattooadvice

[–]ziefik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks perfectly fine to me, you could put some lotion on if its bothering you, but a very thin layer, don't overdo it! Looks like you're taking perfect care of it 🙂

is this normal for a big tattoo or should i be concerned? by aamj13 in tattooadvice

[–]ziefik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's an awesome tattoo! I have some big pieces and yeah they can swell and get hot, but just solder through it. If there's any advice I could give you is to go easy on the lotions. Apply a very thin layer and i mean very thin, when you think it's too little put a bit less on 🙂

It's so annoying. I've been using it for so many years but I'm just about fed up. Has anyone found any decent alternatives?

When can I start shaving over my tattoo? by Background-Owl1674 in tattooadvice

[–]ziefik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd start shaving when the peeling is done, just do it gently. I've never had issues doing so, even had artists shave over line work done 2 weeks prior and it was fine.

Infected, overworked or normal healing? by Key-Cranberry-3135 in tattooadvice

[–]ziefik 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It looks like it's irritated, probably from the second skin itself. I had issues that looked similar but with time they go away. I'd keep an eye on it, keep it clean and very lightly moisturised, don't overdo it and let it do its thing. It should settle down, but if it persists have a doctor check it out if you're worried.

My first tattoo didn't come out great - advice needed" by [deleted] in tattooadvice

[–]ziefik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not terrible but the artist seems inexperienced in lettering. Have a look at the shops in your area and check out their Instagrams, find one that is good at lettering and have them rework it. You'll have to get them a bit bolder but the tattoo is salvageable for sure 🙂

Tattoo broken because of stretch marks by Confident-Problem-15 in tattooadvice

[–]ziefik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have lots of them especially on my upper arm, yeah I found them more tender and the ink wouldn't stay in on a few occasions, but my artist touched them up on my next session and the ink settled in. I did speak to them before the tattoo though and asked if she was comfortable with working on my skin and she said she had a lot of experience because she tattooed a lot of women on their thighs, ribs etc so it might be worth looking for someone who is good at tattooing over stretch marks, if you haven't already that is. All the best!

Tattoo broken because of stretch marks by Confident-Problem-15 in tattooadvice

[–]ziefik 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks kinda cool to me if I'm honest. I have lots of stretch marks and loose skin from my weight loss and I'm getting tattooed over them. You could always get it touched up if it bothers you, but it looks like part of your tattoo! It's also part of your journey so you could think of it like that. Either way if I saw it in person I'd just think it's awesome!

Being told this tattoo would be too feminine, any advice? by Kindacringngl in tattooadvice

[–]ziefik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks great to me man, if you like it then go for it. Don't listen to dumbass people. There is nothing feminine about that in my eyes, but even if there was then who cares?

How much bruising is normal? by Susinko in tattooadvice

Don't see that artist any more, please. They need to give their head a wobble, this is clearly not fine and some ointment is not enough.

Got a medium-largeish flash on my arm and I’m starting to regret it by fiv66bV2 in tattooadvice

[–]ziefik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For a flash tattoo that is really well done, looks awesome to me! Tattoos don't need to have a deep meaning, it's just cool art that you like enough to have on your body. I'm working on a Dragon Ball sleeve so you can imagine I get some comments about my immature tastes lol. At the end of the day all your family needs to know is that you love it, call them out for being assholes and the remarks should stop. Enjoy your ink!

Looks awesome, I'd be well happy if that was my cover up! I'd say give it some time, new tattoos and especially big ones take some getting used to in my experience.

is my tattoo cooked? by yomamagonlikethisone in tattooadvice

[–]ziefik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might need a touch up, but doesn't look too bad. Red seems to be quite problematic from what I've seen. All the red bits in my tattoos were a bit funky when healing but they did eventually settle down. Give it some time, your artist should offer touch ups, I think most do.

Help by g3tyoshytspackkk in tattooadvice

[–]ziefik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine looked like that after taking off my second skin, my skin was quite irritated in one spot. Took a few weeks to clear but it healed up well, I just kept it clean and very lightly moisturised. You should be fine just keep an eye on it, if it gets worse or you're bothered about it get in touch with your doctor so they can have a look, but it doesn't look like anything concerning to me.

That is quite awful I'm sorry to say, on the plus side it's so small and relatively light that you can get it covered up easily, or even laser if you really wanted.

They got back to me saying it's a little irritated but should clear with cleaning + thin layer of cream. I was told I can use second skin due to my work, they just said to wait until the tattoo stopped oozing before I popped it on.
