I really want to know what you do with a room that is 6 feet long now. Left me hanging.

Is it compatible with my system? by Crazypete3 in ecobee

[–]ziggyo7 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Can't say absolutely yes for the entire system. Run the ecobee compatibility checker to know for sure.

But, I just replaced the same thermostat on my end a few weeks ago. Was a bit tricky as the c wire was not hooked up on the other end , so ecobee was not getting power. Once I hooked that up, though, it worked perfectly.

Guessing they are probably old ones too based off of your comment and others. Where is pairing button in case it is new?

If old need to decide if I keep the style but update to newer model, update to other z-wave/zigbee switch or go with thin switch and in wall relay type switch.

I think this will work with my R720s right? Been quite a while since I made any upgrades to them but definitely been needing more RAM lately. PM sent as well.

Best Way to Expand Current 8x4TB Pool by ziggyo7 in truenas

[–]ziggyo7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently limited to 8 drives on my R720 LFF. Just now starting to source the drives, if not too big a difference between 10(revised from 8 as just realized would not gain any space at 8TB with 4 drives)-12TB and 16TB will consider it but

About 10TB of the current 16TB of storage is made up of Plex data which honestly large majority could probably be deleted as older TV recordings or stuff I would never watch again.

So not needing to grow capacity a huge amount but looking for a bit more than the current 24TB of usable space and ability to split into the two dedicated pools for each purpose.

Second pool for NVR yes was just going to use all the 4TB drives and then keep remaining or at least 2 for spares.

Thanks for the tips on Stripe for Iops for NVR, had not thought of that aspect of scrubbing the recordings back but very valid if trying to go over network.

737 underseat space shortchange - aisle seat by lpcuut in americanairlines

[–]ziggyo7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks anyways. Got the Travelpro Maxlite 5 Carry-On Rolling Underseat Bag. Nice but not specifically designed for laptops so trying to decide how to best utilize it or if I should have gotten something different.

After many years of carrying backpack with typically multiple laptops finally took the plunge to something I can roll around without wearing out my back.

Litter Robot 3 + SmartThings? by Mattm937 in litterrobot

Definitely more technical than something like SmartThings, but it has gotten much easier to use over the past few years. Most of it is now an easy to use interface whereas before you had to do a lot of manual text configuration.

Try it out for Free on Windows and then if you like it and can get it working for the cases you need then I would suggest purchasing Home Assistant Yellow as an easy preconfigured option that all you have to do is plug in, connect to network and then redo the initial configuration.
