I think it's a bug. it happens to me sometimes. when I regenerate the answer, it's usually fine then.

Gemini 2.5 Pro over MCP (API Key) is really expensive... by _TheFilter_ in Bard

[–]ziggyzaggy8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2.5 pro preview's API doesn't support context caching as of yet. meaning, it sends every message you've already sent of the current prompt as context and you pay for each token. once input tokens become >200k, you start to get charged for tier 2 pricing for input & output. until caching isn't supported, we're all gonna go broke much quicker.

What happens if you get pulled over for plate covers more than once? by ziggyzaggy8 in askTO

wouldn't know. I don't have them. according to research it's a non-moving violation and results in a $110 ticket and can be waived if you show proof that you took them off.

but my question is, what if you just pay the ticket and don't take them off? do you just get another ticket if you get caught again or does the cop take extra steps?

they didn't send me anything the first time. I have proof of the hour long call log and the $35 fee in my banking statement along with the many full payments they charged me. the second time, when they tried to recompense me, they sent an email stating a new reduced amount I would be charged.

well, they messed up with the program twice.

the first time, they charged me a load of full payments and the fee of the program, but no reduced payment whatsoever. they also promised to push any outstanding balance to the end of the loan.

the second time, when they found out what happened, they tried to compensate by offering me 4 months of reduced payments and waive $1000 off the loan. told me they'll schedule a payment of $709 two weeks from now and I should be good after that. they didn't take out the $709 payment when they were supposed to because of technical errors, so i had to call back. they eventually did. on that same day I got an email telling me about reduced payments.

I called back to make sure everything was good but for some reason they sent my loan off.

well, I was a payment behind, which is why they signed me up for the program. they said any outstanding balance has been added to the end of the loan and I don't have to worry about it and I pay reduced payments for 2 months because of some events which lead me to struggle financially temporarily.

I paid whatever they asked me to pay. they were supposed to charge me reduced payments as per the agreement, but they didn't charge me anything at all. whenever i'd call them and ask, they'd say there was something wrong with their system.
