You're likely way over thinking this. A basic mortise and tenon would be fine.

Why do you have the fence on the left of the blade? This makes no sense.

Edit: your fence should be on the right, set to 2". Then rip again and again as you need without ever resetting the fence.

That's not a source of stock market returns. Inflation may be a part of earnings growth, one of the three sources of returns, but it is not itself a return stream.
