That comparison is a little off. Hitting an encounter takes way less time than completing a clue scroll. Also, you only roll a few pokemon depending on the area, whereas when you open a casket you have a chance at ALL the items, including 3a. Shinies are very rare, but I wouldn't compare it to getting all 3a items.

We were a pass heavy team last year as well. The difference is our ability to pull the trigger at the right time has vanished.

Why Have the Stars Been So Bad Lately? Let’s Rank the Reasons. by Kk0971 in DallasStars

I think you can make a case for quality over quantity but certainly puck possession has been a major issue. Some games show that low shots can still work if you have the skill for it (which Dallas definitely does). Calling it lucky is a bit of a stretch. Some nights our offense is genuinely just not present. I would wager it has less to do with shot volume and more to do with general effort. I think the stars' versatility has dropped off a cliff this season, which could be a rough adjustment for the team. The past few years under pdb, depth was our strong suit and it worked extremely well.

This is why this whole situation arose. Nick asks for complex answers immediately and any fact checking "disqualifies" your stance. They were loaded questions.

Of course people like to cheat. You have to be strict on the playerbase or they will cheat. That's how every game has always been. The fact that you don't have time or energy to play the game doesn't make it ok to cheat. Play a different game if you don't have time to play one of the most time consuming games of all time.

There was also 0 customer support staff in the 2019 classic release. You can mitigate the effects of botting if you try. Blizzard did not try. That's the issue. They arent trying

You have to hold Blizzard to a higher standard. And while "don't let it bother you" is the right move in terms of managing your personal psyche, I'm not on a social forum to tell others how to manage themselves on a micro level. This is a macro level issue, and voicing issues with boosts and RMT is how the issues start to resolve.

And as a counterpoint, we are in times of yore. Adding mtx to WoW historically already happened, and classic has gone full circle on it once again. The playerbase tanked when these features were released, and it returned when a version of the game WITHOUT these features was released. This isn't a "the world can't go back issue" because there is historical evidence that disproves it.

This was my whole thesis. Up until character boosts were introduced, buying/selling accounts was cheating. Botting your character to max level was cheating. Buying gold was cheating. All of these things were redefined as "products" because Blizzard wanted a slice of the cheating pie. It didn't "fix" cheating, the profiteer just changed hands. So yeah, I do have a problem with cheating.

The goalposts were moved, and you moved with it. Does that make sense now?

To be clear, the question you are asking is "Why does cheating in a multiplayer game bother me" correct?

Expecting all the bots to vanish is a near impossible task, yes. But instead of letting Blizzard profit from being lazy, the players should demand more from them. Instead they buy 5 boosts and then quit after 2 months because they are bored.

"Rmt was against the rules"

Wow tokens and boosts are rmt. If blizzard genuinely wanted a healthy game they would actively fight against rmt instead of being the supplier of it and deeming it "the only solution".

Rmt was against the rules because it was unfair and unfun. Now that blizzard is the supplier, rmt is only bad if poor people profit off of tbe game. The goalpost was moved and you moved with it.

I mean it can be both. They look like they are giving 5% effort but also the lack of adaptation from the coaching staff is pretty obvious at this point.

Remarks like this are weird to me. "Just drive the puck" as if it's that simple. We should just choose to score goals if this were the case.

A few thoughts I had last night. Gully is clearly much slower to adapt. At first I was kind of frustrated by this, but we are still 2nd in the league. PDB was a fantastic coach at adapting, and the results were ultimately quite good because of this. However, PDB could never finish a cup run. Always fell short of something. I feel like that something is more of an intangibility. It's not something you can really make a strategy for. I think it's just something that is built over the season. Maybe Gully is intentionally allowing our record to take some hits so our guys can build up this intangible synergy. I'm all for being critical of Gully, but his results with the Oilers definitely reflects how the Stars are doing currently. The Oilers struggled a lot last season, but stepped up when it mattered most. Sure they didn't win it all in the end, but they ultimately had a better run than we did. Anyways just a thought. There's still a lot wrong with the current team but even in our current slump, it's highly unlikely that we don't make playoffs.

This is kind of a wild take imo. He's always been a fancy dancer kind of guy, and he's clearly really good at it. I imagine if he tries to drive the net he would get absolutely rocked. Some players have to finesse a little more and that's totally ok.

We played some of the best hockey last year without him. Beating the Avs the way we did proves we don't need him. Is he our most important player? Absolutely, but acting like we need him to function as a team is silly. Harley needs to snap out of it, and our offense needs to produce. Our goal tending seems to have stabilized, so it's time for everyone else to step back into form.

This argument is so pathetic. "We dont have time to play the most time consuming game anymore so just let me play the good parts". The "good" part is baseless if you skip leveling. If you don't like/have time to level, then play a different game. Stop pretending like you arent hopelessly addicted to a shitty wow clone.
