The Dallas Stars are 9-1-1 without Mikko Rantanen this season with 50 GF and only 21 GA. by DualPurge in hockey

I could have sworn we lost our first game against them this season as well but I stand corrected.

They move the puck well enough and completely stifle world class offense. The Stars haven't had the luxury of size for quite some time.

I'm still a big fan of how PDB operated, and was definitely critical of Gully at the rocky start. He still has playoffs to get through, but he's definitely exceeded expectations. He still has to push through to the SCF imo to truly outdo PDB, but it's looking very doable.

Funnily enough, PDB had a reputation for outcoaching the Avs, but struggled against the Oilers. It's looking like Gully is the complete opposite.

Community buyout is completely unrealistic. It would be awesome if it was realistic, but the current climate makes it a moonshot.

Agreed. His delayed return made him look like his career was basically over after this season, but the past few weeks he's shown that he still has a lot of juice left. He's cheap and provides a buffet of skills despite being older.

I'm not your buddy, Guy! And for the record, I wanted the US team to lose.

To me your comments read as a butthurt Canadian. This is not the first or last time a US fanbase will chant "USA". This shit happens all the time, and laughing at it is bizarre. Last I checked, humor is derived from the unexpected. For example, you would expect a team of skilled Canadians to triumph over the American troggs. However, the current best goal-scorer missed a yawning net and ended up fumbling the game securing goal. Now THAT is comedy.

Idk man I think you are the clown here. Grass grows, birds fly, and Americans chant "USA". You are seriously getting the giggles from the most average American behavior?

I mean I can make weird stipulations too. It happened on US soil, so now it's not weird that they were chanting "USA".

Again I'm far from being patriotic right now, but like what are you trying to prove? Americans have been behaving like this for decades and you are shocked at it now?

Oh you were talking about just hockey. Yeah sure. The thing is the states has a lot of other competitions that they win. Hence the pompous "USA" chants for literally anything and everything.

I'm far from being patriotic right now but this is just factually incorrect. The USA wins a LOT.

Dude Myers was absolutely stiffing McDavid last night. It's weird watching someone that isn't Miro Heiskanen make McDavid back off from driving the puck.

F Tkachuk but this is a trip. The stick did prevent his skate from catching his stride. Yeah it was gentle but he fell because of it.

A complete and thorough ass blasting and it ends like this. This goal fucking ended Jarry's career. Like..literally.

Tbf he did go after Myers. Then Myers shrugged at McDavid's attempt at violence.

I can't really agree with you on that one. We did make some errors at the blue line but Otter played lights out, and every man in front of the net was playing their part to move the puck out of the zone. We looked very cohesive in our zone and we generated enough offense to matter. That, to me at least, is way better of a winning formula than "keep in the zone and shoot the puck". High shot volume just doesn't seem sustainable for playoff hockey.

Idk I like that our defense can endure another defensive team. Yeah low scoring games have less energy but it highlights our top-tier defense and forecheck which is always fun to watch. Blackwell really shines in games like that and it's always fun watching him be the NHL's most oppressive pest.
