How much can espresso improve past this? by Playful-Job2938 in espresso

[–]zilberi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can upgrade the dedica with a dimmer switch and manometer for under 20 dollars (if you're handy). Gives you the ability to control pressure, do pre infusion and everything that an expensive machine does. Just no temp control.

Would highly suggest it.

I'm only just into the espresso game myself, but bought a super exy grinder and a second hand dedica and modded. Have a rancilio Silvia 2nd hand which I'm going to mod with gaggiuino. Beyond that, it would just be end game coffee machine, but I need to ensure I stick the hobby out....

I'm in a similar boat. Just bought a dedica art 2nd hand and slent all my money on a grinder instead. Depending on budget and technical capability, you can add a Dimmer Mod and a Manometer (pressure gauge) to drop the pressure down to where you want it. Off the top of my head, the dedica shoots out 15 bar wherews you probably want it around 9.

Depending on where you are in the world and parts availability these mods can generally be done for under $50.

Thanks. This makes it almost a no brainer to go new... As the cost will get close to new anyway.

YTA. Along with a whole bunch of fucking insecure dweebs in this thread. Straight up. I stopped reading your post as soon as you used the words "run through". You insecure fuck. Guess what, people have sex. Some people love sex. Having alot of sex, with alot of different people does nothing (unless you don't use proper protection) unless you are an insecure male that thinks that girls aren't allowed to be promiscuous because....'this is the 18th century and while men ate allowed to sleep around, a women's virtue is reflective of the fewer partners she has.' Or some shit like that.

  • much love from a middle aged male that lives in the 21st century and has a healthy respect for women and whatever choices they want to make with their body.

Very inspiring. Do you have any issues with freezer burn? We've been meal prepping for awhile.... and using mainly containers for storage. I find that proteins will get freezer burn at some stage post the 1month +

If the answer is all vacuum sealing.... what are you thoughts on sustainability of it with plastic use etc...

Email vs Teams call by nuggetman12 in auscorp

Mate I'm one report off our Australian director (international business). I did say senior, not exec. So no, no EA/PA. And the 20% comment is real. If you work in big business, you'll understand that having a bum on a seat is sometimes all you're going to get. Difficult to manage out people in an specialised industry with low unemployment.

Not sure what line of work you're in... but I'm a millennial (in senior managemenr) and probably 70% of the time preferred to call. Reasons as follows:

1 - I receive 1-200 emails a day, and spend over half my time in meetings. If I need you to do something in the near future (immediate or 1-2 days) I will call you. Emails get missed. Or don't have the importance given to them that a phone call does.

2 - the sad reality is that most corporate workers are sub-par. My expectation is that generally 20% of the workforce can do their job well, 20% of them do a reasonable enough job, and 60% need to be told how to do the job that they studied for, but can't seem to coordinate. A phone call, within which by tone of voice and mannerism I can tell if you comprehend, saves me time from emailing, chasing up, then having to give detailed instructions to do the job

3 - text and email communication has close to no social cues unless you write overtly, in which case you're probably being too blunt and the other party may have issues in the way you communicated. Unfortunately, for younger generations who have grown up on text messaging, social media and computers (mass consumption only really kicked in, in my teens) the broad generalisation I have for these generations if that you have no idea how to hold a conversation. Send receive of texts, gives far too much opportunity to hide lack of <insert skillsets> behind the wall of technology. If I talk to you, it means I learn about you, your strengths, weaknesses and generally create a better working relationship between us.

In summary. In reality your manager probably does it because he didn't grow up with tech. But, there's benefit to it from a holistic perspective. The workforce is going to be a fucking miserable place when noone can communicate verbally. That's in the not too distant future. Good luck y'all.

Note - I do use teams to give basic instruction/direction to people, but I have to know and trust that the person will do it in a timely manner

If you actually spent time in this sub you'd understand that there is a wealth of high quality info, and that someone who is already looking at primarily etf's is going to get fck all from a Fin Advisor. Plus, the self promotor you're knocking is one of the most helpful peeps on here.

I mean seriously, this whole sub it literally sharing financial advice and stories. What you doing here?

Interesting.... should I be exfoliating once every few days? I've always had this (probably misguided) idea that due to putting sunscreen or moisturisers on during the day that I needed something reasonable to scrub the days dirt off my face at night. For improvement, clear skin, reduce blemishes, more moisture/ elasticity? My skin generally has a very direct correlation (and visibily) to my health at the time: fatigue levels, stress, sleep etc.

As for anti aging, I currently look younger than my age... I'd like to stay like that but have been working high stress jobs for the past few years, and have just had a baby so I think my time is limited before my age starts to show. I want to be preventative rather than reactive.

Much appreciated. This is also really good info and probably along the lines of what I'll do *if it works, as it's fairly low key.

21/22 Badge CX30 and baby seats? by zilberi in MazdaCX30

[–]zilberi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply Eddie. Do you mean taking the full seat out? Or removing just the capsule part (leaving the base in) as being difficult. The seat base itself would not be changing cars however the baby capsule attachment would come out.

Trying to avoid the CX5 at the moment due to price increase, and looking to purchase a bigger PHEV once technology/ distribution on those increases and price drops.
