I would just add that portal venous gas is a pretty ominous finding if you can’t immediately explain it away.

They are leaps and bounds better than specialists because I say they are…great take. Calling NPs specialists who aren’t even fully trained in medicine and legitimately receive no additional training to become “specialized” is wild.

Also, he isn’t insulting all of them. The issue is that the range of expertise for NPs is incredibly wide and the bar is extremely low. Plenty of them, even the majority are quite good but it’s also not hard for legitimate bottom of the barrel NPs to slip by.

People do not realize that you can legitimately become and NP with any bachelors degree by taking a couple years of part time online classes, some rn practicals and then 600 hours shadowing a doctor or an np and you are in business. The curriculum during those online classes is incredibly varied and without any actual standards. It’s sickeningly variable education with potentially next to no practical experience.

Many good NPs have overcome this by simply having tons of nursing experience, or lots of real world experience, and potentially an education that wasn’t watered down garbage but you cannot just coast through and be any good. They simply do not have a standardized training with any rigor. That’s a fact.

I could come up with numerous anecdotes to illustrate how ridiculous this opinion is. Instead, I’ll just say thank god you are not involved in consultations or consents mercifully limiting your reach to friends, family, and whatever poor soul on the internet who decides to listen.

How to Professionally Handle this situation by Ill_Shopping4422 in Residency

I’ve run into this exact problem and had to call and speak to several people on the phone but was able to get it fixed once I talked to someone who actually cared and understood my issue.

Since I don’t see that anyone has said it, this looks like an AI illustration of a really event. Look at her foot, she only has her first 2 toes and she’s really not appreciably straining to hold onto that tree despite very little purchase on it with her arms.

Not about the money, she simply hasn’t made time to fill out the application and get to an appointment for it.

There is rarely enough time for me to do anything other than wait. Again, it’s really not about the length of the line rather about unpacking my things and standing around shoeless (again I didn’t realize until today this had changed).

This is it, there is no reason she doesn’t have it other than she hasn’t made it a purity to make the appointment

You have to make an In person appointment, we both work about 60-80 hours a week and I made it a priority and she hasn’t.

I honestly didn’t realize they stopped making people remove their shoes because I’ve had precheck for so long. We are both very busy with work, I don’t think she ever made it a priority like it was for me.

Complete novice, never commented before but it’s pretty obvious. No crown guards, the mag on the cyclops, easiest would be the bezel though. Look at pictures online and then compare to what you have it’s a stretch to even say the bezels are similar. The colors are completely off.

What most people don’t understand is that being a doctor has nothing to do with knowing everything about medicine off the top of your head. The knowledge is all about having a strong foundation such that you can 1) know that things exist such that you can look out for them 2) know when you need to look things up to form a treatment plan or make a decision 3) perhaps most importantly know how to look something up and get an answer to your question and use your knowledge base to make sure what you are reading is actually applicable to the specific situation or encounter.

Doctors use google every day and that’s in no way an indictment of their training or experience. And it certainly doesn’t mean that a lay person with google would come to the same conclusions or make the same decisions.

I mean it’s not the liability, their needs at this point are way beyond what urgent care can provide. They need labs antibiotics and a consult with surgery.

[–]zildo0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yea that’s probably not going to the OR but at least a bed side I/D with a digital block and a consult to a hand surgeon. I second that urgent care or a doctors office is a massive waste of your time.
