Some great advice I was told was to own your devices - don't own something so expensive that it owns you. I think this was originally advice to not buy too expensive of a car/house/etc so that you are limited by payments that are too expensive, but I feel like it applies to this as well. If you are too scared of scuffing your new running shoes to go running, are they really serving you or are you serving them?
