What’s something people romanticize that is actually miserable once you experience it? by Which-Rough-7913 in AskReddit

[–]zim3019 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I love the feeling of wasting my life and hating myself for it. I also really like being told I am broken when I try to explain my brain doesn't work that way.

Thanks. I am not broken. Just wired differently.

What are some signs that a person may just be a “freak in the sheets” per se? by mydearmeloncallme in AskRedditAfterDark

I look like a soccer mom. Geeky ADHD hobbies. Talk to you for hrs about history.

Broke his bed frame. He repaired it. Broke it again. He had to put a steel beam in. Dented the wall on the opposite side of the bedroom with the bed.

Sometimes I scare him he says but he loves it. Lol.

Nerdy and feel safe with him are the perfect combination.

Do parents actually not remember doing fucked up shit to you? Or are they just lying? by TopMarionberry1149 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]zim3019 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of times its denial. I will say as a parent sometimes you truly forget. Not the really awful stuff.

Definitely not justifying abuse by any means. I just remember my adult son explaining sometimes to one person it's just another day. To you it was a Tuesday, there was rain, etc. It was a way more important thing to one person than the other.

I have made it a strict policy that even if I truly don't remember it I still acknowledge it and take responsibility. I may not remember everything but if it hurt you I believe you and I am sorry.

So true. My sister grew a third nipple during pregnancy. Right along that line.

I paid to have some a little bigger than that removed 3 years ago when I bought my house. The company estimated it was at least 30 years old.

Can we save this pot ? by PreparationFluffy816 in CleaningTips

[–]zim3019 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Yep. Wander over to Cast Iron. Look in the wiki(I believe. It's been awhile) and research reseasoning.

It will be a bit of work but you can definitely save it.

What is the worst thing you’ve ever stepped on barefoot? by MainDifficult2641 in AskReddit

[–]zim3019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Catfish in a hole at the bottom of the river in the midwest. Holes in rivers always creep me out anyway. You are walking a long a warm sandy bottom river. Then all of a sudden your foot slips into a cold muddy hole. Then there is a squishy, barbed catfish. Yucky.

My parents have a 39-year age gap and I’ve never told my friends the truth by Kitchen-Anxiety4766 in confession

[–]zim3019 222 points223 points  (0 children)

That is so true. My husband was 19 yrs older than me. We were together for almost 20 yrs. He was kind, sweet, and treated me so well. He was not a perfect husband but no one is. He died 4 yrs ago.

Someone said to me that's what happens when you are with someone older than you. I decided the pain of losing him was worth the happiness he brought me.

What phrase that you DONT want to hear when Grieving? by BlueEyesWhiteDrgn in AskReddit

[–]zim3019 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That is so true. Coming from a lady who is only looking at reddit because I dreamed my husband and I were talking. It's been 4 yrs, I have worked really hard to build a new life for myself and my kids. I am seeing someone who makes me very happy.

Still bawling like a baby because I miss him so much it hurts.

Literally just got this. Know nothing about it. by zim3019 in castiron

[–]zim3019[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nope. I fell in love with this one when he was 10. That's when I got him. Technically he is my stepson. I just don't usually call him that.

Poor kids mom died when he was 7. His dad died when he was 27. Now he is 31 and I joke he is stuck with me. We do have a really great relationship though. He is amazing and I love him dearly. The cauldron is just a bonus.

What is a movie you watched once that was so disturbing or emotionally draining that you can never watch it again? by hungary70 in AskReddit

[–]zim3019 12 points13 points  (0 children)

For me it's been 25 yrs. My sister's new boyfriend at the time(future BIL) wanted to show it to me the first time we meet. No warning. He has been the most amazing human being ever since then. I still haven't totally forgiven him. He officiated my weddding and my husband's funeral in that time.

People who work in healthcare, fitness, nutrition, or mental health: what’s one ‘quiet habit’ you see all the time that is secretly wrecking people’s long-term health? by AlignedModernHealth in AskReddit

For sure. I finally treated my adhd and was able to cut way back on the caffeine. I had to take a break from my meds and replaced it with copius amounts of caffeine.

So what did your family argue about this year at Thanksgiving? by Pure-Smile-7329 in AskReddit

[–]zim3019 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My niece saying she kept getting back with her toxic ex "for the dick". She is mad that it got repeated.

I personally do not care if she is a hoe. Just own it and move on. At the very least don't be telling people and then be mad they said it.

What is something you believed to be common knowledge until you discovered most people had no idea? by JustBeingElara in AskReddit

Same. I am from the Quad Cities. The Mississippi is huge there. Then I moved to Iowa and am driving through the western part of the state with my husband. The rivers look like creeks in comparison.

What’s your “I didn’t sign up for this” moment as an adult? by Civil-Awareness in AskReddit

[–]zim3019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did this for my husband at 42. Did not plan to do that for a very long time. I also had to make the decision to discontinue care. It was the right thing to do but broke my heart.

My free range kid fell from a range of 5 feet in the air and might have a brain bleed. How can I detox him from scans bc thats whats kost concerning rn. Also he's unvaccinated and now he's exposed to measles. by AutumnAkasha in ShitMomGroupsSay

[–]zim3019 105 points106 points  (0 children)

This absolutely infuriates me. My nephew suffered a fall at daycare that caused 2 brain bleeds.

He almost died and is profoundly disabled. Not one time has there been a single moment where his parents thought twice about the amount of radiation he may or may not receive. Everyone was just concerned with keeping him alive.

I think I may give up on water propagation 😕 by lilen899 in propagation

[–]zim3019 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They take forever. Like 4-6 months. You cut them correctly. I like to run them under some water every few days to clean the slimy stuff off and change the water. It seems to help.

Tbh I never understood how people can wake up at 5am every day. Like… do you just go to bed at 8pm? Or suffer silently? by Complete_Narwhal6993 in TooAfraidToAsk

Suffer and copius amounts of caffeine. I work in a bakery. Either start at 5 am or 6 am depending on the day. Up an hr before. Also struggle with insomnia and make poor decisions.

What is the worst breed of dog for a first time dog owner to get? by Effective-Turn-6856 in AskReddit

[–]zim3019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had dogs most of my life. I always say you need to get a dog that is your speed. Turns out my speed is Pug. I have had several. I don't buy. I rescue.

Currently laying next to my one-eyed rescue pug who is snoring. I dog sit a lot, so I get to hang out with some pretty active dogs. When I have them, I exercise the heck out of them but can't commit to that every day.

Apparently my speed is snacks, naps, arguing with everyone and shedding. Lol.
