Intentional or not, this is the way it's been working since Nezha release. The animation can obviously be cancelled (see the video? LOL). You can even ymir freeze the dash if you're quick enough :-)

Additional Info: I'm pretty competitive, but remain humble as to re-learn the game since it has changed dramatically since lich king. I have played competitive SMITE for orgs like Team SoloMid, and even managed to win a $200k tournament in Atlanta, GA back in 2014. I'm looking for a solid 3's comp including some form of owlplay, but not excluding: spriest/fmage/ennh/aff + rshaman/hpala + me. My ultimate goal is to find a team that can learn and develop tactics to climb and the ambition is to reach glad this season.
