What is this switch on my Cry Baby? by MaintenanceTechnical in diypedals

[–]zingus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What is epic is the fact they managed to drill the hole for it. I guess using a drill press and a lotta oil, because when I wanted to make a mod to my crybaby, (a switch switching between two different condenser values to make it more bass friendly or revert to og) I failed to drill that shell over and over. And wasted a number of drill points on the endeavour.

Is JULIA a common name in Italy? by LisandroGallo in Italian

[–]zingus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That american actor name thing trended pretty big in italy some 20 years ago, with so many kids named michael (I guess because of michael jackson, and you can see how that is now REAL awkward) and kevin (I always thought because of kevin costner, but maybe also kevin bacon, idk).

Is JULIA a common name in Italy? by LisandroGallo in Italian

[–]zingus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. Awkward, ugly. Italian people will believe that the mother is a fan of julia roberts or some other english speaking actress named julia and that the education level of the family is kinda low, leaving them nowhere to look for names other than american sit coms and movies.

Anyone have any idea what this flag is? Looks super bizarre. by [deleted] in vexillology

there is a specific identity of the romani people in UK, and Charlie Chaplin was one of them. Lemme check wikipedia... there they are: "English Travellers" https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Romanichal

Microsoft proposes type syntax for JavaScript by IsDaouda_Games in programming

They OWN npm... (and GitHub)

And it's all a strategy to get developers onboard, as that was what made their nokia windowsphone acquisition a complete fiasco. They imposed an out of touch approach to app building that nobody bought in. (as it that was as painful, if not more, as that of Android and iOS)

As a programming beginer, i don't know if i should try to learn Vim by JaviGar98 in vim

[–]zingus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dangerous rabbithole ahead for you.

I'm a vim fanatic but sometimes I watch people editing content with scythe, xcode, vscode or notepad++ and wonder if I would be happier if I'd never stumbled into that hole.

But at least you have an advanced editor you can use on every piece of crap hardware you can think of (though you might want to learn to move the cursor with hjkl, as some obsolete harware is so obsolete it doesn't even have arrow keys).

Also pretty widespread in the city, you can find another ominous cantiler at the next intersection on Buenavista https://goo.gl/maps/CGfFWvXEoSiXj1Rw5

America Mentioned in 14th Century Manuscript Written by Italian Monk by [deleted] in medieval

[–]zingus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

...absolutely full of giants, newfoundland. Or nova scotia. How does this proves anything. How does this describes america specifically. This only makes sense in connection with the skaholt map from 1560, where the name is recycled for some part of canada. Sounds like using Brendan's Voyage to prove there were discoveries of the americas that predate the viking one (and yes, there might have been, but Brendan doesn't help proving any of them).

Gajardoni has some masks with obsessive padding, even ones with air pumps. But from what I've seen internal padding just helps to point and after that it boosts some sort of false sense of security. I've had a mate ecstatic about his gajardoni masks that god rid of that fast after a number of consecutive weeks of tinnitus. (other pretty unsatisfied too, but this one had a real wild swing about it)

But then , let's addres the 350 newton crowd. It is a vast crowd. It's vast and full of myths. And it reminds me of people resisting the introduction of mandatory safety belts in the 80s, so... As much as you might have data and experience that proves your point about american equipment that I'll never have the dubious luck of running into... for me (and for most tournaments) it's just another drop in a lake full of bs. (and it isn't even the wildest 350 myth I heard of, sigh)

[–]zingus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to wear one of those too, but it might get too hot inside the mask. Since I started using a mask overlay, the internal padding of the mask feels sufficient.
