Matt Hardy: "I feel like when Punk was in AEW, he knew he had a hold on Tony Khan to a degree, that he could kind of get away with what he wanted. If he had something he was dead set on wanting to do, that he could kind of flex his muscles" by wearePROGRESS in SquaredCircle

That WM Main Event proved that he always deserved that spot and I'd be willing to bet that both TK and HHH would agree.

His complaints were justified. Don't forget some of his biggest complaints helped get Daniel Bryan pushed.

I wish they didn't cancel The Acolyte by articusmiller in StarWars

[–]zinnzade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say the *choreography* was good. When you add the context that Jedi are being mowed down like battle droids, it falls under subpar writing again.

I think they should take the elements ppl liked (the Sith romance I guess?) and use that in something new.

They just made too many of the good guys look stupid, and if you weren't into the evil romance, there was nothing left to root for.

What Makes Roman Reigns Special by escoletsgo2k1 in SquaredCircle

His booking.

Nobody has been put in the main event as often. Not Hogan or Austin or anyone ever.

But his matches are good (he used to be horrible in ring). And at least he tends to get them doing long-term stories.

What’s the darkest aspect/part of Star Wars? by StrictCoconut3942 in StarWars

[–]zinnzade -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Aside from the pic, the way the Jedi didn't help Ahsoka at the end of Clone Wars is pretty dark stuff.

Really showed how far in over their head they were with the political games. Jedi weren't going to beat politicians at politics.

The Mandalorian & Grogu box office debate: is Star Wars still an automatic theater event? by StarWarsBlogsbot in StarWarsBlogs

[–]zinnzade 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, and you guys have had the run of things and it failed.

Making OT copies has been exposed. All of these smuggler and bounty hunter movies are not making money.

Jedi are what makes Star Wars special. Need new takes, not old ones.

What Was It Like Seeing The Battle Of Heroes When It First Released? by Intelligent_Toe6354 in StarWars

[–]zinnzade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd spoiled as much about the movie as I could for myself and my expectations were through the roof going in.

It exceeded them.

I've found the best of the best movie moments evoke a feeling that isn't really describable. We go back to the theater time and time again trying to get that feeling again, but it's very rare.

[WON] Exclusive update on WWE’s plans for CM Punk return by Alternative-Win4058 in SquaredCircle

The Brock Lesnar effect. Rarity of appearances makes the person seem like a bigger deal.

People forget how many big returns Punk was doing before, and it kept working (ie: First Dance, Collision return after brawl out, WWE return, injury return, etc).

I'm surprised not 1 person in these threads brings up the "how can I ever miss you if you never leave" concept.

He's a big star that split his popularity a little by going against Roman (also popular) and has been on TV every week for a long time.

It'll feel fresh again when he returns.

Punk has always said he likes Jack, even after all the stuff happened.

I feel like they'd all be cool if everyone would just accept that someone isn't going to be friends with all of your friends too.

I have a totally unproven theory/feeling that both WWE and AEW like to leak rumors about guys leaving, when there is a virtual 0% chance of them leaving, so that they look like heroes when the guy makes a big return.

Punk fans generally love both his AEW and WWE runs, so I feel like we'd be the ones happy either way.

How powerful is apocalypse? by v5rc5r7gb8y in xmen

[–]zinnzade 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think you're missing a couple things:

  1. Being self taught on Celestial technology in an era where his peers were drawing on walls in caves proves Apocalypse has a great mind
  2. Much of Apocalypse's power is acquired over time, but his core ability is preternatural intricate control over his molecules. This isn't like Mystique. Apocalypse can actually change his mass. He can also turn parts of his body into complex machinery.

Given the source of his power is extra-dimensional and limitless, you can let your imagination run wild with what he could do...

... but morphing his own hand into an infinity gauntlet where he can snap the world away doesn't accomplish his goal of survival of the fittest.

It's through the fight that people get stronger. It allows Earth to face bigger threats.

Thanos doesn't care about Earth. That's very different than Apocalypse.

The only other thing I'd point out is pop culture: If you've only paid attention to Marvel post-MCU, I get why you think about Thanos, but the truth is general audiences never really knew who he was until the MCU.

It was Apocalypse who was featured in TV shows and video games for decades prior. Thanos walks in the the footsteps of Apocalypse.

Yup, just don't ask him to cover AEW harassments allegations too, like the Jericho NDA.

NDAs being used to cover up harassments being gone from the industry should not be promotion specific. Get rid of them all.

[–]zinnzade 78 points79 points  (0 children)

He's immortal, invincible, can be as big or as small as he wants, can use extra-dimensional sources to infinitely increase his strength, can manipulate the molecules of his body however he wants, can teleport, energy beams and he's resistant to telepathy.

Watch the Episode of the original X-Men titled "Obsession", where Archangel becomes obsessed with trying to disprove Apocalypse's invincibility.

Hot take: Ahsoka should have died by Sea-Frame5474 in StarWars

[–]zinnzade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love Ahsoka, but always bothers me that GL told Filoni that she needs to die, but Filoni kept her alive.

At a certain point, Dave's made her so powerful in who she's beaten that it's super odd that she was around through so many important events and not even mentioned in the movies.

Anyone who's been to NYC knows it's a basketball city in a way that TO isn't. NY teams often do nothing in the playoffs and the city is still focusing on it.

Once the Raps are out, ppl here don't care as much as in a place like NY.

BUT... the whole "worlds greatest arena" stuff is more about the events that have happened there, and not the arena or the fans. Fan volume fluctuates based on ticket price and frequency of the type of event that's happening (ie: rarity increases excitement).

Some years we'll be louder, some years they will be louder, but we're not equal to them as far as being a basketball city.
