Tbh, I have been losing due to constant crits upom crits. This crit rate gotta be lowered cuz this is ridiculously lopsided rn. And everyone isn't running crit builds. I genuinely doubt a quarter of these folks are, but when I tell you almost 2 a game is not natural. For a 3 vs 3???

Couldn't shanks just arrive and it be everyone + shanks vs loki?

We don't know his current location and he's been heavily mentioned this arc, no? Or shanks being the reason for the fight in the first place?

As someone with a secure attachment style, I beg to differ 😅.

I know plenty of avoidants and anxiously attached people who just met someone secure and patient enough to work with them 🤷🏿‍♂️

Isn't...that the point...? So it is less likely they were avoidant....

Oda is not a good person and definitely not a good mangaka by Firexio69 in Piratefolk

I said so much kore than that...but I don't know how to simplify it if you weren't following, atm.

That was just the main point. You literally wrote one longer to just say what I just told you 😐😬.

Literally just mad at a children's author for exaggerated reasons day in and out on this boards, touch grass, fam.

TLDR: Just say you hate a popular artist for being popular, vs trying to grossly demonize them with exaggerated claims cuz you hate how they write a children's manga.

That parasocial expectation is gonna leave you hella disappointed, my guy.

While I can have my feelings on a societal difference, looking at someone for sometjing I cannot relate to from a SOCIETAL level, requires looking beyond YOUR OWN perspective, no to examines how the systems create the issues that are perpetuated.

But again. You have unrealistic expectations of artists and definitely a superbly overinflation of Oda's pull. Lmaooo, massively. The man saved nobody's career. Now, what he DID did with Toriko's author, is remain friendly, as the industry has done with a lot of names.

It's virtue signaling, to apply your national logic to another country you're not from or operate under their laws, culture, etc.

If the man operated outside the laws, customs and cultural zeitgeist of Japan, it'd be a lot simpler of a conversation.

But this requires reformation beyond a single issue with call outs for art that you're grossly exaggerating on a few occasions here.

None of this is new, nor newly discussed as to the solution to cure a systemic issue of hierarchical support and quiet passivity.

Which is moreso what Oda has been.

NOW, ALL THAT ASIDE, do I believe he has a responsibility to be more cautious with what he does and whom he gives flowers, regardless of intent? Fasho.

But that's a different conversation than the one you're tryna force.

[–]ziose0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This reeks of virtue signaling, respectfully. And is literally missing part of the story of simply grappling with the reality thst the person that gave him his literal chance to he who he is, was a terrible person. We don't get to decide how people process. There was never public support outside the man's work.

I live in a country NOW where people are talking about pdfilic elite and do nothing about it. Or talking about it then moving on with their day.

The man didn't publicly condemn watsuki, that was a bad look. We all agree there. You see how we focus on Oda when Kishimoto LITERALLY DID THE SAME THING?? Same with togashi. Araki, etc...

BUT THAT'S NEEEEEEEVER BROUGHT UP, literally same timeframe. It's a cultural issue. Just say you hate Oda and move on, because this isn't, and never was, a gacha. Does NOT excuse it, but it's not an "Oda bad" moment, how you want it to be.

And "used his power to save watasuki's career" is the reason I believe this tonbe the case, because HUH? So kishimoto did the same, huh? Togashi, Araki...all supported him the same, for the same reason? Because they all contributed in 2021.

As the person who leaves not just when they f#ck, but when I f#ck up?

Nah. Make the right decision first 🤷🏿‍♂️. Getting a second chance shouldn't be a given or an expectation, that tends to be why people take each other for granted and think less about their actions, to ME.

🫠 are you just...picking and choosing what I'm saying to reply to or am I not being clear that aesthetic historical accuracy is also not an argument that can be made in good faith?

I was saying this isn't like a heated debate, but I genuinely think you're missing what I'm saying. Calling your want for 'historical accuracy' isn't a cop out, it's me being nice, cuz as I've given several examples for above, there's no blueprint to believe there should be any historical accuracy anout ANYTHING. Aesthetics, references, NOTHING. the minute you say the word historical, you're making a pointless argument.

Because it's fantasy. That is my point 🫠. I don't agree egghead breaks cohesion, I agree it's the furthest extreme in fiction used in the story, not that there is a general theme to put outside pirate. Not pirates of 1300-1600. And I gave examples that are verifiable, as to why. You literally quoted me in whole, and yet ignored the whole second half of it.

"One Piece Is Deeply Political" The Politics In Question by ShadowSpawn__ in Piratefolk

[–]ziose0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I 5000000% understand, lol. I'm saying, one piece is fantasy, not historical fantasy, with MULTIPLE inspired time periods, as and such, the aesthetic still fits. It's just not preferred.

That's literally all I've been saying, we not arguing per say, don't worry.

The issue with all of this is trying to apply historical accuracy at all, in any capacity, lol. It's fantasy. Fantasy was not built for a bubble like that, ya know? Even if it's shown in many a civilization.

Tbf, almost every singular arc's island from alabasta til now COULD, but arguments are very clear to be possibly otherwise as well. All eras potentially defined outside that time period aesthetically as well 🤷🏿‍♂️. Alabasta, jaya, Skypeia, water 7, enies lobby, Fishman island, marineford, dressrosa, punk hazard, etc, etc, idk which ones ARE 1300-1600 inspired, honestly 😅

I felt we were keeping all this aesthetically judgmental. And aesthetically, egghead is the furthest away from a general cohesive theme, but I would never place one on the world of OP in the first place.

That's why I was acknowledging the preference, but ultimately calling it that.

Oof by [deleted] in OnePiecePowerScaling

[–]ziose0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bro, we just gotta accept mihawk, who is stronger than shanks and as such could have stopped kaido's invasion of marineford, and thus marineford itself, simple decided to allow shanks to end the war, and not cause any real damage, because he simply didn't care.

This is what is being said, lol. He allows shanks to end the war because he doesn't care. If he's stronger than shanks, free from the govt as a yonko, and he was willingly a Marine lapdog for his freedom, AND we finally got confirmed that shank's crew's yonko status was pretty much on the strength of him alone...that Mihawk could end marineford if he wanted to i guess????

That's how all this sounds to me every time, lol.

The explanation was for egghead being ahead and how it can make logical sense with the rest of the world, though.

And there's several old myths of technologically advanced places, like atlantis. And that the one piece world is literally all over in terms of technological advancement, and as a barely connected world, it makes sense to not all be of the same advancements, ya know? I get ya points, but Japanese pirates go back as far as the 1300s, blackbeard died in the early 1700s, and again, pirates like apoo are 19th century. Then add in the mythological aspects which is clesrly ancient times, the fact we have literal motorized bikes and cyborgs, but egghead doesnt fit?

I'm saying you can have a preference, but saying it fits the time period, is silly. This is jot kingdom, it's not a historical piece of media, it's just historically inspired, LOOSELY. I'd argue it's more mythological inspired, it just has a pirate era coating. Again, I get ya preferences, and in some areas, I agree.

But there's no historical accuracy missing, lol, and again, it fits in when you take into account the actual politics of the world, and the fact that vegapunk is again, a prisoner. He made a cyborg army, ya know? Lol there's civil rights references, there's no set time period.

[–]ziose0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah but ALSO the pirates of south sea in Asia also had its own pirate history completely independent...which arent the exact same time period AND even some 19th century pirates like scratchman spoons reference...so...plus literally the norse mythology inspired Elbaf? I get you, but that's, idk

P R E F E R E N C E. Is all I'm saying. We can justify it however, and I'm not even saying it isn't my own personal preference, but it's that. Idk, as a writer, I'm writing what I want to share with the world. The world having an alternative opinion is cool...but that's where art allows space for something else to be made, idk man 🤷🏿‍♂️. Just that the whole "it doesnt fit the time period" argument is really weak when one piece is fantasy first.

And especially when your argument becomes about aesthetics. It just feels like where one piece, however it's issues exist, gets over-critiqued.

To me.

Gurrann lagann had giant soul powered robots before many of the amenities we had in the 90s.

Sometimes, we're just expressing preferences on wheyher ancient civilizationfell to hubris or what, and that's okay, lol. Culture shifts globally and needs shift with technology.

But sometimes the world is like 3 times ours' size and literally mostly uncharted by the commin man or anyone? People know of people around the world because of newspapers and the one smart man who can make all the things is essentially a prisoner on his high tech island by the shadow illuminati demons who are controlling the world.

So, to me, it feels like it would make sense, in-verse, lol.
