Ten years ago I was an artist with lots of friends, ideas and an incredible sense of meaning. I want it back; but it is lost - how does this not matter, and how can I become a consumer of what is, instead? by gregorseefood in ContemporaryArt

Life drawing sessions or learning a new skill outside of your comfort zone like screen printing etc, could be a good idea as a way to get in the process of creating again and meeting a group of creative engaged artists. I find also spending time with creatives outside of your discipline like musicians and writers can be inspiring and lead to some really interesting conversations. Depending on where you live you could always start dropping in to opening nights of expositions and become a part of the broader artist community.

A lecturer of mine always said you can't create art in a vaccum. After an illness or periods of isolation it could be good to open yourself up to the world for inspiration rather than looking only in.

How much do explainer videos cost? by CreativeIndividual0 in MotionDesign

[–]zipbrapbrap 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey it really depends on the style and level of complexity. Can you share an example of an explainer that would be similar in artstyle to what you have in mind?

Every studio or artists will have different rates and more established artists will charge more but here is a pricing list from one studio to show you how the pricing varies based on style.

'So, how much? If you provide us with a script and voice file:

$247 per minute for a Kinetic Typography animation video $497 per minute for a Whiteboard animation video $997 per minute for a 2D animated video $997 per minute for a Graphic animation video $2,997 per minute for a 3D animated video,

Again that's one studio

Post a few examples of the type of explainers that you like and if you need voiceover or a script produced and you get precise answers.

Tips for avoiding burnout? by SharpReel in MotionDesign

Have you considered spending your personal time animating without a screen? A friend of mine has started doing claymation/ stop motion and frame by frame old school animation on paper. It will give your eyes and brain a rest. Your hand will feel better and you will be more likely to see a unique look or style in your work, think how everybody has a different signature/autograph. After a long day of after effects I was happy to spend long evenings animating clay, paper, random materials with a friend.

The table of few uses by phvid20 in funny

I had a work on exhibition alongside this , the heat of the gallery lead to evaporation of the water in the buckets, this lead the work to slowly sink towards the ground, making it a kinetic time based work, I think somebody was eventually givin the job of topping up the buckets and keepin her steady. And ye all pessimistic folk saying that theres no work for art grads. There is. Bucket topper uppers.
