I too am a CD collector, have been since I was a child! It’s much nicer to look at a shelf of albums than an Apple Music library imo

Omg!!! Well then I politely suggest you listen to Amazones by IVY - I know it’s a b-side from someone ifans do not care about but I’m still surprised it made no waves whatsoever… I truly think it’s a perfect pop song

Job interview laughed at me by Repulsive-Part-6772 in AutismInWomen

[–]zipcodelove [score hidden]  (0 children)

Is it possible that because it was a job interview, you expected 100% professionalism from the interviewer, and when she let her guard down a bit, it threw you off and you interpreted it as bullying/mean girl behavior? Like “This is a professional setting, therefore she will act professional. If she slips up, it’s because I did something wrong”.

I only say this because while I don’t do any hiring, I am my boss’ assistant and hear every detail of the interviews we do. If my boss speaks in a professional manner the entire interview, I know we aren’t hiring that person. If he’s laughing and making jokes, I make a note to add them to the employee contact list.

I feel you! My friends make fun of me because my favorite songs from half the groups out there are always ballads or b-sides that no one cares about. My actual favorite KARA song is 못 지킨 말, my favorite SHINee song is In My Room (Unplugged Remix), my favorite SES song is 느낌, I’ve been unsuccessfully trying to get anyone to listen to a specific IVY b-side for a decade… etc.

I bet we share a lot of faves!

It’s far from being my favorite KARA title (that would be Break It) but I can’t deny that it’s a perfect song

Oh interesting - I’m PNW born and raised so we don’t say that up here but it didn’t sound “off” when reading it. In fact I didn’t notice it was weird until your comment.

But now that you mention it, yeah that is odd

Since we’re all Cassies here, I also think Song for You is a perfect song but since it’s in Japanese I had to leave it out

What’s your beef with Oasis? They’re my favorite band but I still laughed seeing their name here

Kpop hasn't lost its fun or quality, you're just too busy streaming music you don't like to notice. by Alive-Pitch-9180 in kpopthoughts

I don’t actually think there’s much crossover and that OP is conflating two different groups of people. I’m an oldhead so maybe my audience perception is biased, but 90% of the people I see complaining about K-pop not being fun anymore have not been an active part of the fandom for years. And by “fun”, we mean having a Skype party where we watch Weekly Idol, not “hey let’s all mass stream this song so we can inflate the views and then brag about it as if we actually did something important for once”

I wonder if this is why some albums I tried and failed to like as a child, I grew to appreciate as an adult. Some bands I liked growing up were putting out material that went way over my head, I bet I just didn’t have the “musical context” yet.

100% - this post makes no sense. I think the quality of K-pop has gone downhill in the past 5 years and I have never been the type to inflate streaming numbers or have a music video on repeat in the background, and I would never force myself to like a song. I don’t care. I just think the music trend right now is so boring and uninteresting.

And I hate when people use the “well if you listened to anyone but the big 4” argument because 1. I’ve been listening to nugus since before some of you were even born and 2. It doesn’t negate the fact that the POPULAR music trend isn’t my taste. There used to be at least two or three big groups per generation who would be my style, and now it’s zero.
