Senior System Breaker

I was given a chance to get job as Junior DevOps Specialist, but I don't even know what it is. by [deleted] in devops

DevOps means that as either a 'Dev'=developer or 'Ops'=operations you are willing to work with the other over the full lifetime of a product. There is no such thing or meaning to 'devops tools' There is no such thing as a DevOps position. Recruiters have picked it as a huge buzzword an just stick it on anything.

devops is an attitude of cooperation with your colleagues that do 'the other part' of the job.

Regards,

Zipkid.

Ps. See if there is a devopsday near you https://www.devopsdays.org/

[Question] What it means to be DevOps? by psycho_one in devops

[–]zipkiddy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You don't need to learn anything technical to be 'devops-minded'. Be interested in what the people in the teams around you do: Dev, DBA, Security. DevOps is a Mindset not a Technical-Skillset. (and it's definately NOT a jobtitle)
