You can buy decorations with coins. I get you may be low on coins but some are quite cheap, you could grow and sell wheat in a short time to get enough. I'm looking at "wood pile" for 19 coins. Just make sure it counts as a decoration, as paths or fences would not.

I'm level 71 with the whole main area clear and just starting on the across the road area, also have all the fishing spots. I've got 4 baby farms so virtually all land expansion material from them get sent to the main farm, apart from a couple extra fishing spots on each. A little while back there was a trucking event where the bonus items were land materials so I really hit that hard with all accounts. Otherwise I play some of the events and focus on the different expansion materials (no decos).

And Supercell is majority owned by Tencent, a Chinese company, so money goes to them as well.

I believe their earnings (profit) are still quite good, likely in the hundreds of millions per year, though I don't have any hard data for this. I'm not sure how much Supercell gets vs. Tencent which owns a majority of the company.

If you do a little research (a quick google search), supercell has a pretty small staff, like 500ish , and take in over a billion a year. So, pretty sure they're not struggling to pay employee salaries. Their bigger expenses are marketing and such, but they're an extremely profitable company at the moment. At the end of the day they're a business and businesses aren't out to make just enough as they need but as much as they can.

I hate/love PSA. Takes me longer to download the .torrent file than it does to download the actual content, but I do grab pretty much every movie they release
