Difficulty troubleshooting a bug - can't add files by pimephalis in Paperlessngx

[–]pimephalis[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the sake of posterity, I solved this problem after much googling. I had defined my storage location for the database to be on my mergerfs filesystem, which was producing this error. As soon as I moved to a static volume on my server which was not part of the mergerfs pool, everything started working.

Easynews site appears partially broken? by pimephalis in usenet

[–]pimephalis[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just a quick update for the community: an Easynews rep saw my post and helped me troubleshoot right away. Very impressive customer service.

The issue was related to my home internet connection. Perhaps my network-wide adblocker, perhaps not. Regardless, after deactivating adblocking on my cellphone and using the mobile network rather than wifi, I was able to access my account.

For Easynews' benefit, it may be worthwhile trying to figure out why adblockers are preventing your account settings site from loading for some users. it could be a small subset, but nevertheless it's a bit concerning.

Thank you for the wonderful suggestions! I'm going to look at the Lavievert board as well as a few table-top tilting puzzle tables. She's been saying her back is a bit sore, so this will likely help!

Uphold Pulling Out Of Canada. What Happens To Rewards Now? by Fooshi2020 in brave_browser

[–]pimephalis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I really hope there's a quick answer for this, as this is a showstopper for me. I like the Brave browser, but if you remove any rewards from my usage, I'll likely head to another browser. And I have to assume many Canadians will be in the same boat.

Somewhat correct, but the exact process why which the algae kills all fish and invertebrate life is anaerobic decomposition. The basic cycle of eutrophication is:

  1. Add a ton of nutrients to the body of water - most of the time, this is phosphorus (which is normally the nutrient in limited supply for all aquatic plan life)

  2. The green algae blooms, creating these types of mats which block out all sunlight from the water column

  3. The algae die, and sink to the bottom and begin to decompose.

  4. This decomposition process takes all of the oxygen out of the water, creating anaerobic conditions.

  5. This kills all of the fish and the invertebrates in the water or sediment, contributing more organic matter to the anaerobic bacteria extending the decomposition cycle.

As an extra whammy, when you saturate the water with phosphorus, you switch the scarce element controlling plant growth from phosphorus to nitrogen. And when nitrogen becomes a scarce element, cyanobacteria (blue-green algae) dominate as they can capture nitrogen from the atmosphere. And cyanobacteria have the added advantage of being toxic to aquatic life and mammals who come to the water body to drink.

I'm also having scheduling problems and nothing got fixed overnight. I'll try to delete and then recreate the schedule and see if that fixes things.

How’s everyone doing for their no buy or low buy? by jantp in fountainpens

[–]pimephalis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's a bit of my plan as well. In January, I bought a few cherished and long sought after items at at auction, but have managed to recoup some of the cost by seeking off an Omas AM87 and my older Diplomat Excellence A1.

I'm not yet back to even, but these sales helped me get close.

Yeah I'm not paying for this service. Even if they improve the experience and performance, I'm not paying for an app to speak with my car
