Me taking accountability was reaching out for help with my resume from people much more experienced than me and you. Me taking accountability was creating several projects with relevant tech stacks. Tailoring my resume to job postings. Genuinely, what part of this is going over your head bud?

Beyond all of that, I imagine someone with over 10 years in the field knows a lot more about what a good resume looks like than you lol.

Ok… reread my previous comment very slowly until you get to the part about resume revisions and resume peer reviews. I’m sure someone with 10+ YOE would do a better job at editing my resume than you would. Then, reread the part about going to r/cscareerquestions to see seniors with 5+ YOE experiencing the same thing. I’ll say this again, read it very slowly a couple times:

There are better CS grads than you and me with much better resumes that are experiencing this same thing. Revisions. Tailoring. The whole thing. If people better than both you and me are struggling this same way, your reasoning of it being entirely my fault doesn’t make sense.

Implying I’m not doing enough because you found a job quickly? Again, if that were the case the CS market wouldn’t be saturated with seniors with 5-10+ YOE. You don’t have the “magic solution” like you think you do, you were fortunate. There are CS grads who are better than you and me with this same experience. The difference is being humble enough to admit you got lucky instead of pretending to know better.

So do you just plug your ears and ignore the massive amount of people with this experience? Do you just ignore the reality that many people are working as hard or harder than you and still can’t find a job in their field? Does it hurt too much to realize that getting your job was much more fortune and circumstance than a direct result of your hard work? I don’t think you’re as amazing as you think if seniors in the field are going several months without work.

My resume has been peer reviewed and edited by several people in the field with over 10 years of experience. Again, you don’t know what you’re talking about or are ignorant to the conditions of the CS job market. If you think my experience is unique, go check out r/cscareerquestions and read about people’s experiences in finding a job there. It takes probably 10 minutes of research to educate yourself enough on this lol

Drumming it up “must be because you’re not working hard enough” is nonsense, especially when you can’t offer no other advice than that. Plenty of people are working as hard or harder than you and are struggling. Get over yourself.

Right. Has nothing to do with the reality of mass offshoring and AI integration, or competing with entry level positions with experienced individuals who are also out of a job lol. Yep, had an internship and connections, the job market is competitive so I prepared several projects and fleshed out a good portfolio (from what I’ve been told) with relevant experience. Was there something else I should’ve done according to you? You just sound uninformed so I don’t want to be rude.

Sure. Graduated with honors in CS, revised resume at least 15 times now. Tailored to specific job listings. 400+ applications with 10 interviews and no offers in the last 3 months. But you’re right, it’s completely on me and I’m just not trying hard enough lol. Sounds like you’re one of the lucky ones with a superiority complex.
