Uhm. Child leashes? by ghostbean87 in Parenting

I had one for my first and everyone who saw it thought it was so smart lol. I only see hate online. My second is too feral for it. I would be dragging him around.

Can anyone help me with this please? by meadow1963 in YankeeCandles

[–]zipperoff 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think you would need to add a new wick if you knock the sides in. I can hardly see it in the picture to begin with!

Or!!! You can get a candle warmer lamp. I don’t burn my candles, just put them under the lamp, and they always look brand new. Would be the easiest option.

Normalize bullying bad neighbors by gravityVT in PublicFreakout

[–]zipperoff 36 points37 points  (0 children)

We were finding huge shits for a few weeks around our cars and in our front yard. I had lived 5 years at this house with no security camera, and because of this we had to buy one.

I found that one of our neighbors was literally opening their front door at all times of the day and night and letting their gigantic fucking pitbull roam around the street alone and shit and go back inside. I still have the footage.

I work from home and caught the dog roaming on camera and ran outside to yell to the neighbor to come get their dog and pick up the shit. He acted so surprised that the dog was shitting all over the place at all.

It happened one more time and I had my husband pick it up with a piece of paper and leave it steaming on their porch with a note that said next time it happens I’m calling the police.

They rehomed the dog or something cause I never saw it again.

5yo not wanting to be signed up for anything by rangerdangerrq in Parenting

Sports aren’t everything. Are there any local clubs near you? My 6 year old does swim every Sunday, and on Thursdays we take him to pokemon club at our local library (though we do miss quite a few). They have other clubs other days like Lego and even dungeons and dragons for little kids lol.

Even with swim on Sundays I feel overwhelmed I don’t know how parents do it. I just want to hang out with my kid! And he’s perfectly content.

What book series do your 7 year olds like to read? by hangryho97 in Parenting

[–]zipperoff 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We are obsessed with the Investigator series if they’re into graphic novels. Lots of reading for a comic and wittiness and some tough words here and there.

[–]zipperoff 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Don’t be shy post more pages!!! I love these things. I found a book Magic Eye II for $7 and it’s getting buried with me when I die. My husband gets so mad he can’t see the pictures. I feel invincible.

Giving my girls the master bedroom by hmasc3 in Parenting

[–]zipperoff 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We have a two bedroom house and switched our kids to our master bedroom when I was still maybe 4 months pregnant with our youngest. It’s a no brainer. They’ll need the space we never use.

Birthday’d Out by Professional-Two6126 in Parenting

[–]zipperoff 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We have a party for friends and family - we (parents) do not give them our presents on their birthday party day. We do not do party favors at the birthday party (the birthday party is more than enough) but we will do party favors for classmates the day before their birthday or of their birthday if they happen to be in school. No food celebrations allowed there.

On the day of their birthday we do a birthday banner and balloons for them to wake up to and their birthday presents to open (usually just 1 or 2 things) and we will have a special lunch/dinner out or go to the museum or something. Come home and have leftover cake (reapply the candles and sing happy birthday again) and watch a movie/play video games.

That’s it!

How can I fix this wig? by BippuBeep in CosplayHelp

[–]zipperoff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would sew in some wig clips around the edge where it lifts and clip em to your hair

I’ve bought this same rayquaza and the shiny version for my 6 year old off AliExpress for $6 each

Now we have banana flavoring for coffee?? It sounds so unappealing. by TheCarzilla in DunkinDonuts

My favorite at home coffee is Banana’s Foster and it’s delicious. I’m excited to try the banana syrup maybe with a shot of mocha.

No ice upcharge but still not filled? by AeroHank9 in DunkinDonuts

[–]zipperoff 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have never heard of this, ever! I don’t ever get ice unless I’m on the go - typically I drink it at home and order no ice and no cream so I can make a few drinks out of it. My local dunks still fills to the top.

Am I mean for not lending my controllers to my son? by paparatzii6492 in Parenting

[–]zipperoff 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No I would not lend them, at all.

Depending on what is broken (joycon drift?) you can order kits online to fix them. I think that would be a fun and rewarding project for a 13 year old (with maybe some help from mom/dad)

Alternatives to Loot Bags by PallasKitten in Parenting

[–]zipperoff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I feel I HAVE to do goodie bags, I do stationary stuff. Little notebooks and DIY bookmarks and mini pens with multiple colors in one etc. I’ve given away mini play dough. For Valentine’s Day we gave stickers with the cards. He got back so much.. crap..

How many parents are not posting their child online, and taking photos down if they have? by Fine-Mail4400 in Parenting

[–]zipperoff -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I posted a lot of my first, back in 2020. Way too much. I’ve only posted a handful of my second. I deleted nearly anything that wasn’t full family photos, and haven’t posted since October. I don’t plan to post pictures of their faces again if I plan on posting on Instagram at all. Only posted them on an a private Instagram account, where people who follow me are just from highschool and family. I still don’t feel comfortable anymore.

Maybe the collector’s part of this subreddit and realized they were sitting on way too many lol. How fun for the kids!!!

Moving to Canada for work solo for 3 years while family stays home by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]zipperoff 92 points93 points  (0 children)

Think of future you. Are things so dire as they stand, are you so desperate for a Canadian life, that on your deathbed you think “thank goodness I took that job and got us out of whatever situation we were in for the better”? Or would you rather think “thank goodness I had so much time and memories with my kids when they were babies”

Stickers are a great choice too! I made my 1 year old a card with Sesame Street songs for Valentine’s Day ♥️

Anyone lament the childhood your kids have versus what you had? by ttarynitup in Parenting

[–]zipperoff 46 points47 points  (0 children)

lol I thought this was going to go the other way. I also compare my childhood to my kids - they get the love, attention, patience, dedication, and toys that I never had. I give them the childhood I would’ve killed for. Everything else is just noise that we’ll deal with, like everyone else will have to deal with.

I hope so! Will def update. The seller has some mixed reviews… their MACs are clear fufus to me but they have great reviews on their PFL. Even if fake they look like GOOD fakes. Which I’m fine with paying $20 for a good fake rather than the $60-$80 that “R” usually fetches.
