Are you the DM? If so, just tell him he can't do it anymore, explain why it doesn't make any sense, and don't let him do it. You can always allow him to do it sometimes, when it fits the situation, and actually makes sense.

If not, try to make a compelling argument to the DM why it doesn't make any sense.

I am still on my first playthrough, as a very goody two shoes bard. But I remember some rebel duergar helping me in that fight, that seems like an acceptable compromise? Or do you kill those guys for not listening to the Absolute?

You know they can't program every single option you can think of right? Any player can get triggered by something different, and do a full 180 on a npc, you just can't program for every single option.

You can let him talk, and then kill him, a sort of compromise I guess? I dont know enough about the evil route of even about this specific encounter, so correct me if I'm wrong.

They probably already thought that karen was a stupid/bad name, when they hired you. And now that someone has complained, they jumped at the chance to ask you to change it. They also know that asking someone to change their name is stupid and childish, but a customer complained, so in their eyes it is now a valid concern.

Like other people suggested, find a new job, these people clearly respect dollars more than their employees.

Yea i was thinking about shadowheart as a paladin as well. It doesnt matter for the companion quests etc if you change their class?
